Stopped by a surprise challenge

The two of you don't make it far as you begin leaving the gym. Only a few steps from the door you hear someone behind you come out from around the corner of the building. Blue seems to ignore them so you do the same, continuing down without as much as peeking behind you. It isn't until someone else pops up from around the corner in front of you that Blue stops and acknowledges their presence.

"Well hey there, you headed somewhere?" the one behind you asks, slightly mocking in his tone.

"We were just about to head out to Viridian Forest," Blue dismissively replies. "Seems there's nothing going on here today."

"Well why don't we fix that," the man in front of you jokes. As he walks up to you, you notice a red R on his cap. You've never seen them in person before, but you've heard enough on TV to know these guys must be Team Rocket. "No need to go all the way out there to train. We can do some training right here, even if the gym is closed."

"Yeah, there's nobody to interrupt us so why not just have a friendly battle right here?" You jump a little at the sudden voice directly behind you.

You look back and forth between the two Rocket Grunts who have now boxed the two of you in on the sidewalk. Unsure how they would respond to you talking back at them, you let Blue decide what to do. "I wouldn't mind getting a head start on some training," he replies to the two grunts.

The grunt behind you pokes you on the back while the one in front takes several steps towards the corner of the building. You quickly realize that you and Blue are getting escorted around the corner, where there would be proper space to battle.

"You know," the lead grunt comments, "we have a unique situation here. There's two of us and two of you. Why not have a double battle? Assuming Miss Collar here is allowed to battle." He looks slyly at Blue with the last comment, knowing that it's his decision to make.

"Sure," Blue agrees, tossing you the PokeBall with your Charmander inside. "Double battle, one Pokemon per person. Sounds good to me. Right, slut?" You nod, knowing you can't refuse when Blue wants you to battle.

The four of you square off in the grass beside the gym, with the two Team Rocket members standing just off the sidewalk. You toss out your Charmander and Blue summons his Squirtle against the Rocket Grunts' Rattata and Ekans.
