Chapter 15

Yes, shall we get to work?
Renovations
"Okay, the first thing to get done is gathering some resources like wood and stone." You said as the goblins nodded in agreement, although you weren't entirely sure they understood what you were really saying.
"I want fifteen of you to go outside and start cutting down some trees, three to a tree, bring back all the wood you can carry, and leave it here in the entrance." You ordered as the goblins just silently stared at you.
Boba turned and started barking out orders in a different language, it was probably a good thing you'd made her your Champion since apparently most of the lesser goblins didn't even speak Common. As soon as she finished, a bunch of them shook their heads and ran outside; you had a small group left.
"What about us Master?" Boba inquired as she not so subtly rubbed against your leg, teasingly groping your manhood through your breeches.
"Not right now Boba, you can call me Master in bed, but for now you can call me Boss." You refuted as she smirked.
"Sure thing Boss." She purred, doing more to arouse you than her touching had. And from her grin, she knew it, since she gave one final squeeze before letting go.
"A-anyways, the rest of us are going to try to get through one of this back wall. According to the message, this is a mine, and it only makes since for a mine to go deeper into the mountain. Hopefully it won't take too long t uncover, and then we'll have access to a Storeroom, and ore veins, and we can really get started sprucing this place up." You said, leading the small group to the back wall as you noticed, perhaps for the first time ever that it did look different from the other two walls.
While the other two looked solid, this one had small cracks running all over it, and when you pulled at it, lots of small stones fell to the ground in a mini avalanche.
"Let's get to work team!" You shouted.
Turns out, goblins made better excavators than you did, with their claws able to tear into the loose rockwork. With the small group of six meager goblins and Boba, you were able to get through a large portion of the loose gravel to break through.
However, now the tides had switched; once all the small rocks were gone, you still had the major obstacle, fallen boulders ranging from the size of a pig to as big as a cow. What's more, they were all stacked precariously, as evidenced by one goblin almost being squished when he pulled on a seemingly loose boulder.
Now it fell to you, and surprisingly Boba, who must have gotten a stat upgrade via her promotion as you discussed the best way to take down this wall, and have to move the actual stones.
You'd considered just trying to break them, but you had no tools and the small growth of the progress bar had dissuaded you of that idea.
You finally called a break after several hours, having still not seen the original group of goblins that you'd sent out.
A quick hunt revealed why, they'd managed to cut most of the way through five different trees, but that was all.
"I suppose that makes since, I didn't have any tools like axes or hatchets to help them, and this isn't some game where you can just punch a tree to get wood." You considered, before gathering attention to yourself.
"Okay, new plan guys, just leave the trees for now, we'll try again later when we have better tools to help you. For now, let's try something you can probably all mange easily enough: hunting." You ordered as the collective group cheered, apparently they knew that word at least.
"Whoever brings back the most food, get to eat first!" You ordered as Boba translated for you as the squadron of goblins roared in excitement, splitting up into the forest to hunt.
"We'll never see half of them again will we?" You asked, walking back to the cave.
"Nope, they get lost in their own camp." Boba agreed as you had a good laugh over it.
You kept at it for several more hours, working stones free as you removed them, steadily making your way through.
Progress slowed around the second hour when you started getting too hot and took off your shirt. You were far from built like a Warrior or Barberian, nor did you have the dashing good looks of a Paladin, but Boba started drooling immediately, taking ever chances to rub against you and sniff your body.
Progress improved after you told her you couldn't share a bed until you could reach the bed, on the other side of the rocks as she drove back into her job like a woman possessed.
Periodically, you'd hear some footsteps behind you and turn to see a goblin or two returning, placing food on the ground as a small pile began to form, mostly of small animals like mice and squirrels, but you spotted one bird-like creature in there. It did seem, however, that the goblins lacked the intelligence to separate their kills so you could judge who won.
It was around the seventh hour that the sun began to dip below the tree line that you called it, deciding instead to go outside to begin gathering small twigs and fallen branches as you started setting up a campfire.
You started trying to skin the various animals best you could, but it was slow going with just your dagger. Thankfully, several goblins came back, and noticed what you were doing as they sat down next to you, skillfully removing the fur and feathers with practiced ease.
They helped skewer the meats on sturdy twigs, slow roasting it over a fire as they took their individual portions, not arguing with each other as they started settling down for the night.
A few late stragglers tumbled in after dark, and accepted their meat, save two who ravenously refused to wait for it to finish cooking before devouring the meat raw.
No one questioned as Boba sat next to you, taking arguably one of the largest pieces of meat as you all ate in relative silence before the goblins gathered together, piling on and around each other in a corner as Boba explained goblins usually slept in a cuddle pile for warmth and protection.
She, of course didn't obey this custom, instead following you as you tried to make a makeshift pillow out of your shirt as you reclined, Boba climbing into your lap as she wiggled a bit, making herself comfortably against your chest as your eyes closed, drifting off to sleep.
What does the next day bring?
