Do the non-residents leave?
Sometimes reluctantly.
Well, most of the non-residents liked the idea of finding out if what you said was true, as well as the chance to use that as a spawn point if their normal one was destroyed, so they willingly left. The Players were mixed, but most wanted to find out something they could exploit latter.
However, there will always be assholes!
After putting the stone units back into your inventory, you leave to the town square. While going there you hear a commotion and rush there. A level 5 half orc Barbarian did not like it when someone tried stopping him from raping a level 1 housewife after torturing her husband and children, leaving them pinned to the walls and forced to watch as he raped the mother.
You climbed the side of the building he was in, and taking the stone units he had put back in his inventory, unleashed them all on the rapist from above before dropping in and using one of the short swords to stab the guy to death.
The new Players who were still there saw this and were revolted. It was still being recorded and broadcast by Alizin. She rushed in to heal who she could, and Zandra provided what aid she could.
Eventually they had to leave along with the others.
Once only locals were there, the mayor held up the Superior Claimant Crystal and said “I claim the town of Highbreeze in the name of its residents!”
