Search for other survivors? Scavenge for supplies? Or something else?

Scavenge for supplies

Johanna searched the pockets in her captain's cloak for anything useful to her, for surviving on this island. She found a compass, luckily still functioning, idly showing north without any breaks or dammage. Next she found her field glass, sadly one glass was broken. Also she found her pouch, with a few golden coins and some silver, but for now it won't help her too much. In the storm she lost her favorite captain's hat and saber, leaving her with only the sheath attached to belt. She stood up and looked at herself. She was dressed in green pants, shirt, cloak and belt without any weapon. It didn't look like perfect, but she keep thinking optimistically.

"Well, there is no point in crying, I just have to work something out." Johanna said to herself and began looking on the beach for other suvivors and some loot from her ship. She must have some tools or even better a weapon to defend herself. She grabbed a wooden stick from the beach. A very poor weapon, but still better than bare fists.

"Alright, I need food, fresh water and some place to sleep," Johanna said to herself as she marched across the beach looking for any signs of survivors or loot. Soon, the sun heated her back more intensely, making her remove her cloak and hang it on her shoulder, but sweat dropped off her forehead and back.

"Damit, this sand is so hot! If only I still had my boots..." The captain complaineed, when suddenly she noticed on the coast a floating wooden box, probably from her ship. Johanna didn't think twice, she left on the beach her cloak, stick, and belt, and in only her shirt and pants she rushed to the water and swam quickly to the box, to not let it foat away to the open sea. Luckily for her, the waves weren't too high, and Johanna managed to swim to the box, tied in ropes and fishnet. The captain pushed the box to the shore, which was much heavier than she expeted, but with a lot of effort she finally managed to drag it onto the beach.

Johanna sat on the beach, breathing heavy, and tried to calm down. Finaly, she stood up and unwrapped the ropes and net from the box. It was locked by nails, but using her sheath, she managed to open it and see what was inside.

What is inside the box?
