What now?
Preparations for my journey
After a bit more playful banter and cuddling, we returned to the dressing room to work on our clothes. I instructed her to show me some of the common clothes that people wore, and I spent the better part of what felt like an hour watching as she made the clothing materialize on her own body in some strange fashion show.
Most of the outfits were very similar to what you would expect from medieval styles, but with some subtle and no so subtle differences. In the case of the latter, most of the clothing was a bit more revealing than one might expect. When I asked her about that, she simply said that it was written in the Atlas that the clothes either showed a lot of skin or accentuated the more appealing features of the feminine form, but no actual reason was given. If you were to ask someone in Seradyne about it, they likely would say they never thought about it, and that it was just the way things were.
Elven-styled clothing was even more revealing, often including sheer fabrics. Interestingly, there was a reason given for this attire, and that was simply that elves were a more sexually free people, and often found artistic and natural beauty within the nude form.
Even the armor was much more revealing. When I pointed out that it seemed impractical, Amelie replied by saying that most well-crafted suits of armor had mystical dwarven magic cast upon it to make it more durable and protective despite its appearance. The magic was cheap too, so practicality was rarely an issue, most armor was designed in whatever way the smithy or commissioner deemed most visually appealing or intimidating.
Finally, Amelie showed me the kind of things that female mages might wear and given that was the thing I was going for, this was the part I was most focused on. She explained that most mages made it clear what they were by lining their cloth with gold fabric, and they rarely wore armor since they could use magic that would protect them far better. Styles varied from caster to caster, and there were few standardized sets. Most mages created their own garbs from scratch, often designing it to make clear what their magic specialties were.
I decided that my robes should be red, to start, and just because I almost felt it was obligatory, I also made sure the robes would show off plenty of cleavage with a deep V neckline that went all the way down to my naval. The garb would hang on my shoulders, and the holes for my arms would go down as far as the opening in the front, meaning that from the right angles I’d show quite a bit of side-boob. To top it off, the robe was backless, this was not really for visual appeal, it was actually so I could summon my wings without tearing my outfit in half.
As for the lower half of my robes, I decided mobility would be key. The skirt of the robe went down to my knees, and two slits down the front of my thighs and two down the back of them ensured I would be able to move easily. To finish things off, I gave myself a pair of sandals with red cloth straps securing them to my feet and calves. Finally, I had the entirety of the robe embroidered with images of dragons to go along with my theme.
“You look excellent, Master.” Amelie smiled at me once I had finished. “And very alluring. I would recommend you carry yourself as a mage who specializes in enchantment magic. This magic would allow you to manipulate the emotions and minds of others, enchanters and enchantresses often wear more revealing robes to this end.”
“Sounds good, but there is one problem. I’m actually kind of ashamed it’s taken me this long to realize it.”
“What’s that, Master?” Amelie frowned and cocked her head.
“I don’t know any magic.”
Amelie’s lovely smile returned. “You needn’t worry about that, Master. Your predecessor, too, made himself appear as a mage, and he knew no magic. But as I have mentioned, he fashioned himself a number of magical artifacts, like that ring, that made it seem like he did. As long as you carry them, most people you meet will be none the wiser.”
“Oh, he wanted to be a mage too?”
“Yes, in fact he is renowned in Seradyne as being a very powerful and influential mage.”
“Then it may concern people if I am wandering around with his stuff while he is nowhere to be found, no?”
Amelie frowned again. “I suppose that is true, I had not considered that.”
I thought for a moment. “How about I introduce myself as his apprentice that took over his mantle after he died?” There was actually more truth in that backstory than one might expect, now that I thought about it.
Amelie nodded. “That would work, Master. And it would be believable, he often talked about wanting an apprentice to carry on his legacy.”
I blinked, and suddenly felt like my outfit had changed once more. I was now covered in various unique accessories, mostly jewelry. Amelie had a staff in her hands. Both ends of the black pole were tipped with large red crystals that were set into a golden frame.
“That should be all of them.” She said and handed me the staff. I gladly took it and examined it. It betrayed gorgeous craftsmanship. “You now have a circlet around your forehead, a necklace, two rings, a coin purse, a magic bag, that staff, a pair of bracelets and a pair of anklets.”
She then proceeded to explain the properties of each new item.
The circlet, which was gold with a ruby set in the center of the forehead, apparently was another one of the perverted items. It was an alluring circlet that made people trust me more. In addition, it would make people more receptive to requests of a sexual nature, this depended on how that person felt about me as well as how sexually open the person was to begin with. Amelie said this would generally mean that most common folk would likely accept a sexual request as long as I was a friendly acquaintance; while some might require true friendship, and others still may only require that they know my name. The circlet would also give me an innate sense of what it might take for most people to open up to me sexually.
The necklace was next, and its purpose was more practical than anything else. The necklace had a gold chain connected to a pendant that looked like a golden shield. It would make me immune to all of Seradyne’s diseases, extremely resistant to poisons, and allow me to exist comfortably in most **** environments. It wouldn’t protect me from environmental hazards, just let me resist the effects of heat or cold due to my environment. It also would allow me to more easily resist fatigue from long bouts of travel, which would happen often, I imagined.
Next were the bracelets and anklets. They were a set of simple golden loops, and I needed to be wearing all of them to gain their effects. They would give me excellent martial arts form and skill, no matter what I was wielding. I would just instinctively know how to use most anything I picked up as a weapon. This could be useful in scuffles, surely bandits were a thing in Seradyne, it would be a good idea to be prepared.
The coin-purse was simple enough. It was a little drawstring bag made of a sturdy leather material, reminded me of a few dice-bags I had, and it was filled with gold, silver, and copper coins, as well as an assortment of small gemstones. According to Amelie, if I were to reach into the bag while knowing how much something was worth, I would end up with exactly as much money as I needed in my hand to afford whatever it was. That would be a pretty handy item to have around, but it could be dangerous to make it obvious that I had such a thing.
Next was the magic bag. It was also a drawstring sack, but much larger and with a number of pockets along the sides. It was already full of various adventuring gear and miscellaneous travelling tools. The interesting thing about the bag was that it was incredibly light in spite of all the objects within it, and there was a much larger space inside the bag than there appeared to be.
The staff was a powerful tool that would allow me to cast destruction magic at will. Amelie explained that destruction magic was primarily used to destroy the environment or harm other creatures using conjured flame, electricity, frost, and other energy-based forces. It was also sturdy enough to be used as a bludgeoning weapon, if the need arose.
Finally, we came to the second ring. This ring was a simple silver band without any fancy script or engravings. If the ring was worn, I would be completely ignored by anyone and everyone that could detect my presence in any way. It was almost like invisibility, but much better in many ways. If I removed the ring, those around me would stop ignoring me, but they would continue to ignore any evidence of me that was made while I had the ring on. So, if I left muddy footprints in a house I walked into while wearing the ring, even after removing the ring nobody would think of the footprints as anything unusual. I couldn’t help but notice a strong connection between the powers of this ring and the powers of The One Ring from the Lord of the Rings, it wouldn’t surprise me if my grandfather made it as a nod to the series.
“I believe that is all, Master.”
I took one more look into the mirror at my new form, my new gear, and new clothes. I was about to depart on the best game of Dungeons and Dragons I had ever been a part of.
