Try It?

PUZZLE BOX: May As Well Try It Out

Maybe it was just for the sake of indulging the strange little box and its goofy gimmick. Or maybe it was that nagging fact that Hank now knew some sort of magic existed. Either way, he decided to try the thing out and grabbed the box as instructed, holding it by the sides and then thinking about what he wanted. Quickly, his co-worker came to mind, Genevieve, or Genny as was his preferred name to annoy her with. They weren't actually at odds with each other that much, but Hank still held a little resentment after she turned him down a few years back. That and...

''No way she's getting my promotion''

He was picturing it in his mind as he shook the box, he'd get himself the big office and Genevieve would be right there as his sexy secretary, a busty blonde he could bend over her desk whenever he wanted and just start...

''eep!'' He let out a high pitched squeak as the box in his hands started to rattle of it's own accord, making a mechanical sound like hundreds of sewing machines running at the same time. Trying to look at the box turned into an almost painful experience as the op of it warped and seemed to distort the space around it, even his own hands were barely visible through the mirage. When it settled, he noticed the top of the box now looked completely different.

In the upper left corner, apparently embossed into the box, was the word 'RESTART' painted in black. Across from that, in the right corner, was a number 179, apparently embossed and painted in the same way. Actually, it said 178... Make that 177. Make that 176.

He realised that despite the apparent impossibility of embossed lettering changing in that way, it was still happening. More than that, it seemed to be ticking down each second. Then he remembered the other things it said on the card. Specifically the words 'Run Out Of Time' and 'Doom'. He didn't particularly want to experience either of those things. So, he set about trying to solve the puzzle.

Arrange the letters into the required phrase

(X) N M Y T T E C
(X) E E Y R Y S S
G U L I S R T A

A slide puzzle with two blank spaces. Hank hated slide puzzles. He fumbled back and forth for a few seconds while nervously eyeing the countdown in the corner. 87, 86, 85, 84, 83, 82...

He wasn't getting anywhere and he knew it. Time for plan B. He held his finger over the restart label and hoped he'd read the instructions correctly.

Did he read the instructions right?
