Reading thru the final parts of the information packet on the body mod ray gun Xander was quite excited. He should have read it with the original instructions but it had been labeled optional, experimental. But reading it now he was excited, not nearly as excited as whoever wrote the notes, but still excited.

The ray had been developed to basically fix soldiers. Too out of shape for duty? Ray gun. Injured your back and unable to return to duty? Ray gun. Lost a limb and unable to return to duty? Ray gun.

The original primary purpose of the ray gun was to make american soldiers the healthiest soldiers they could be and then keep them that way.

But if what he was reading was true then the ray had other applications to it. The ray gun could and had in limited lab tests been used to train soldiers. After all learning was just developing the brain and the ray gun did body development like no other. The ray gun woukd shoot an 'info beam' and write onto the targets brain whatever was encoded by the ray gun. Be it technical manuals, combat basics or battle strategies of the past.

You could, theoretically, accomplish a soldiers basic training inside of a week if you followed the info packets warnings about not abusing the brain and allowing it to rest between info beams. Shape the soliders body into what you want and then program their brain with what you want.

"Fascinating." Xander managed a bad Mr. Spock impersonation.

This machine was just ripe for ****, wasnt it? Control of the body. Control of the mind. Make them think. Make them act.

Xander was very, very grateful the thing had fallen into his hands. He dreaded to think what Maggie Walsh would have done with it. Or, worse yet, Uncle Sam. He might not be the most responsible, he knew what he did to Spike wasnt exactly a good thing, but he wasnt trying to make a legion of brain washed supersoldiers like Maggie and Uncle Sam.

He could make good decisions. Not **** the ray gun. He could be responsible.

Now... if he only had the input attachment he could input new material into the computer base. If he could beam tax codes into his own brain maybe he wouldn't have to worry about taxes ever again.
