Chapter 13 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

Buy the EMP for 99% of your planet's combined wealth?

No way... all of your planet's wealth is too high a cost...

You hated to let Keiko down again, but truth be told, you got in way over your head... There was no way a rookie god like you and a priestess could beat Bungen's priestess and all of his resources. The only thing that would be worse would be to play his game and let the rest of the planet suffer for this foolish gamble you'd taken. You apologized to your priestess, while telling her that the cost was too steep.

"Is that so? This is actually a pretty great discount on such an EMP device," Bungen responded, sounding pretty chipper despite failing to make the sale. "Well, if you won't pay me in cash, you can always pay me in faith. Miss Zai, please, initiate protocols once again."

"Understood," the priestess answered simply, placing her hands back onto her garment and resuming her typing. At once, the many sentries and weapons sprung back to life, keeping Keiko in their sights.

"I understand... Katappashikara-dono... We can't sacrifice the well-being of so many for my own personal quest. It hurts... But it must be the right call. We will simply have to take this loss and learn from it. But I won't go down without a fight!" Keiko bit back her frustration, while readying her sword to deflect as many of the attacks as she could manage. It was a valiant effort, as her sword bits flew left, right, down, and up, deflecting not just seed bullets, but also, the many bombs approaching from overhead. Yes, a valiant effort... but far too little at this point... The seed bullets mercilessly rid her of her last bit of raiment, dashing those charm tags to shreds as a few got around her swords. Your priestess was left naked in the center of the arena, still working to deflect the extra attacks as Shiryoku signaled one again for them to power down. Keiko panted heavily as sweat dripped from her nude body and the crowd erupted in cheers.

"A foolish endeavor, but one that will be profitable in the long-run for both of our faiths. You'll see," Bungen consoled you, while a satisfied smile rested upon his fish-like face.

((Faith +1))
