Biography
One day, when Nalai was very young, she was left at the doorstep of an orphanage in Xibalba. The reason for her being abandoned was unknown, and so Nalai was forced to grow up without parents.

Being a smaller alp than usual, the other alps all outperformed her. Even D ranks were better at flying then Nalai was. The bitterness that followed from her failure, despite her B rank, caused her to develop an anti-social mindset.

In her own time, the only company Nalai would find were those far away from the others and closer to her. The bugs and worms and snakes and critters close to the ground, where she often found herself in. Her rank as a monster tamer made it so that she could comprehend these difficult to understand creatures as well, and she spent time learning to listen. Eventually, she had enough of the expectations and the other orphans and a feeling of not belonging, and she followed the worms out of the orphanage to a wilder area within the Xibalba region.

The area was a rocky, muddy highland where the unpredictable, untamable and largely unkillable monster worms dwell. There, she was welcomed and in time learned to control and understand the great worms. Eventually, her disappearance from the orphanage was discovered and some legionnaires were sent to save her. When they found her, the legionnaires could not be unimpressed with how she tamed the wild worms and offered her a place in the legion before she was of legal age.

Having been welcomed in the Demon King’s personal legion, Nalai was given a position in the 3rd cohort, in the tribune’s own party. There she made friends with other lowborn legionnaires that had the fortune of being born as B ranks. They often chatted about the difficulties of life and the scarcity of food, and how life for everyone would just be better if they had greater access to farmlands, or even if they could just trade with the other nations. This made Nalai and her friends quite dissatisfied with the Demon King's hard line on absolute isolationism.

This changed when Ziges started his coup. Her Tribune was planning to side with the loyalists against Ziges, but for Nalai and her friends, this was the time to change the Demon realm for the better. They staged a little coup of their own and took out their tribune. Then they marched their cohort to Ziges and pledged their loyalty to him. For her service, Ziges promoted Nalai to being tribune of her cohort.
