Chapter 3 by Icequeen52 Icequeen52

More testing

I click on the stats, trying to find an option to see what each of the stats mean. If I’m able to level up and allocate statpoints like it seems, I need to know what those statpoints actually do. After a few seconds of clicking around, I find the window and start reading.

Strength: Determines the physical strength of an individual, in terms of lifting weights or punching hard. Also increases HP regen. Formula: (Base 0.225) + (STR * 0.005) per hour.

Agility: Determines how physically quick an individual is.

Endurance: Determines how physically durable an individual is and how much damage they can take. Also increases HP total. Formula: (Base 10) + (END * 5)

Intellect: Determines how intelligent an individual is. Increases logical thinking skills. Also increases MP total. Formula: (Base 10) + (INT * 2)

Wisdom: Determines how well a person can use the knowledge they have in a productive manner. Increases problem solving skills. Also increase MP regen. Formula: (Base 0.45) + (WIS * 0.0075) per minute.

Charisma: Determines how charismatic and good looking an individual is. Increases social skills and self expression.

Libido: Determines how horny an individual is. Increases sex drive and cum volume. Formula: (LIB / 2) mL.

It’s handy that it shows the formulas for everything the stats calculate, as well as the stat explanations themselves. Satisfied with that explanation and my understanding of my stats, I realise I haven’t tested my inventory at all, and try to open it. Responding to my thoughts, another window opens, showing 24 empty item slots. Closing the windows for now, I return my attention to my walk, resolving to test this further on the bus. I observe one more person before another popup appears.

Observe skill lvl 2: Costs slightly less

Marginal difference, considering that the skill doesn’t cost much in the first place. I observe more people to continue levelling the skill, figuring out that the average level is somewhere between 3 and 7. I see some outliers, a couple at level 2, a child at level 1 and one person all the way at level 9. Although I’m not completely terrible in level, I’m at the lower end of average, which is a little sobering. Not like I had much of a high opinion of myself in the first place though.

I get to the bus stop, and a few minutes later, the bus shows up. I tap my card against the scanner, then walk to the back of the bus to sit down. I take one of the back seats, then begin observing everybody on the bus. My conclusion drawn from outside holds true, most people here too are between levels 3 and 7, with the odd outlier here and there. After observing the last person on the bus, I get another popup.

Observe skill lvl 3: Costs slightly less. Relationship bar unlocked. It will show the opinion of people towards you.

It appears using observe on people levels the skill up much more quickly than using it on objects. I resolve to only use the skill on people for efficient levelling, considering I’m already down to two thirds of my mana. At least using observe again on people I’ve already observed once, doesn’t seem to cost me mana. Looking around once more, I can see a little bar going from a little red frowny face with a -200 next to it, to a green smiley face with +200 next to it. There’s another yellow coloured neutral face somewhere in the middle. The opinions towards me of those on the bus is unsurprising, yet once again, a little sobering.

Most are completely indifferent to me, with a couple of people slightly positive or negative in their feelings towards me, likely based on personal bias. Those in my class don’t have any difference in opinion from those on the bus, implying that despite me spending quite a bit more time with them than the brief few minutes the others are aware of my existence, they are just as uncaring towards my existence. I sigh a little, but try not to let it affect me to much. This is the life of a fairly plain looking, skinny trans girl who keeps to herself.

I remember about testing my inventory, so I grab my water bottle from my bag, and sit for a few seconds, confused about how exactly I’m supposed to get it into the empty slots of my inventory, as it’s a 2 dimensional window and I’m trying to fit a 3 dimensional object inside it. I move the bottle closer to the window, and the window expands slightly to accommodate the object. It neatly fits into one of the slots, and I withdraw my hand.

The water bottle takes up 1 inventory slot. The window shifts once more to be completely 2 dimensional again. Some kind of dimension shifting magic? I decide not to question it too much. If it works, it works. Magical fuckery is at play here in any case, and I’m going to take advantage of it, if it means I have to carry less stuff physically.

Achievement unlocked: Lazy bastard!

You used your inventory to store something you could easily carry yourself. Congratulations!

Reward:

+1 Strength

Well, whoever wrote that achievement isn’t wrong. I am unequivocally lazy at times. Still, it’s a magic thing that lets me carry a bunch stuff without it weighing anything, why wouldn’t I take advantage of it? I put a few things from my bag into my inventory, looking around to make sure nobody sees me.

Just because other people can’t see the windows I have, doesn’t mean they won’t find it strange that objects I’m holding are suddenly disappearing into thin air. I’d rather not deal with the questions that come with that.

Achievement unlocked: Careful!

You realised that letting other people know about your magic Gamer powers is a bad idea!

Reward:

+1 Intellect

As if to confirm my caution, another achievement pops up. It’s free stats, so I’ll happily take as much sass as whoever is writing this can throw at me. I am absolutely convinced at this point that someone is writing all of these. Those two achievements are tailored specifically to things that just happened and came up too quickly to be from anything automated. More magic fuckery. Unless something somehow knows exactly what I was going to do before I do it? That just leads into the question of whether or not I have free will, and although I generally find that question extremely interesting, it’s not something I’m in the mood to ponder. Not when I have Gamer powers to test!
