Mission impossible

Liz and Jamie entered through to the pathway that leads to the back pool area, almost hand in hand. The two appeared to be very close, like two magnets trying to pull apart and coming back together yet not touching. Jamie kept his eyes fixed on Liz the entire time. It was clear he was smitten.

“How was your date?” Jenna asks Liz and Jamie as they come back.

“It was great. We got to sit on the beach and had a picnic,” Liz said, all a glow and smiling ear to ear. “It was really romantic.”

Rick looked a bit peeved at that.

The boys and girls naturally separated at this point. Each spilling the “deats” of what happened on their date.

“Nah, it was good,” Jamie said. “We had great banter mate, I’m telling you.”

The tension was somehow thick between Rick and him. Rick looking like he wanted to strangle the Thor lookalike.

“So you think she’s into you? Are you into her?” Tom asks.

“You know, bro… at first, I didn’t even notice her. I was like all over Paige, but the more I got to spend time with her… I’m honest. She’s a hundred percent my type on paper.”

“OOHHHH” go Mike and Tom in unison. Rick not joining in.

You look back and see a camera pointed directly at Rick to capture his facial expressions. Obviously, this was going to be juicy drama.

“What about her? Does she still prefer Rick over you?” You asked.

“Oh, shoot…” Jamie says. “Rick, I was going to talk to you before I went on a date. I hope you didn’t mind that.”

“Nah, man. It’s cool,” Rick says calmly, though you could see his fist clench. Always a bigger fish. “It’s just kind of weird you got it on with her so quickly.”

“I’m sorry, man, I didn’t pick the date,” Jamie said.

“So what she says about her and me?” Rick asked.

“Oh right… mate, she told me it was still early, and she and you still aren’t an official thing and that she’s open to it.”

“Umm-hmm,” Rick said. “Yeah, definitely. It’s very early.”

There resulted in an awkward silence after this.

“If there was a recoupling now, do you think Liz would pick you?” You asked Jamie.

Jamie mulled it over and gave his answer. “I don’t know. You’re going to have to ask her. She’s definitely interested, I think.”

The night went on, and the boys hung around and talked about random unimportant things after that to clear the air. All the while, you were trying to figure out how to push Jamie and Liz together and keep Rick isolated as the lone man out to survive another week.

After the hangout with the boys, you ate dinner and talked to Paige (unimportant small-talk things) and Liz respectively.

“I’m definitely into him,” Liz answers you in a one on one conversation.

“What about Rick?” You ask.

Liz frowns and then answers, “Look… I like Rick, but he’s very… serious? Jamie just came in out of nowhere, and I wasn’t expecting it, but he’s just soooo good looking, right?”

“If there’s a recoupling, would you pick Jamie over Rick?” You asked.

Liz looks around to see if anyone could listen to your conversation. She nods.

It was 22:30 sometime after your talk with Liz. 23:00 was designated lights out time where all the lights and power in the villa would automatically turn off and Islanders were expected to "sleep".

You were brushing your teeth and checking your messages.

18:54 – Rick, Tom, Jamie, Mike’s affection score has increased by 10 – You hung out with Rick, Tom, Jamie, Mike
