Making friends

Gavin had spotted the girl in trouble after getting off the airplane, making her way towards baggage claim, while struggling with an oversized bag and several additional bundles in her hands. Samantha, for her part, spotted the girl as well and flashed a knowing smile to him and after Gavin just sighed, he walked forward and called out.

"Need some help?"

The girl looked back as he approached and with a smile, she nodded and he reached over and took some of her bags from her hands, enjoying the additional strength and the ability to lift things with relative ease. That and I'm hella tall now in comparison, he thought as he straightened out the weight in his hands and fell into step with the girl. "Name's Gavin, by the way, heading my way?"

She laughed and smiled warmly at him. "Guess so, name's Sandra." She looked at the jacket he was wearing and smiled even bigger. "You're going to Richmond?"

"Yeah, transferring in my senior year, mom and dad got me squared away," he replied, motioning to Samantha who just smiled and nodded, Sandra turning towards him. "You?"

"Yeah, I'm also in my senior year. Let me get your number, we can talk some more later on?"

After the ten minute walk through the terminal building, they had arrived at baggage claim where the two teenagers stood a bit part while waiting for the bags. Samantha said nothing, watching her son and the girl talk, the girl's interest in him was obvious and Gavin, for his part, was definitely receiving the vibes and responding in kind. My son...

As they got in the car, Samantha grinned and Gavin just rolled his eyes. "Nice job, guess we know your type, honey?"
