Lucy meets back up with Kim

By the time Lucy made it back to the library, Kim was already waiting outside, bag slung over her shoulder. When she saw the brunette, she waved her over to where she was standing.

"Hey! How'd it go?" Kim asked cheerily.

"Fine, though the lady helping me out was acting kind of weird," Lucy replied, "Still, I got my new ID, so I should be able to get that book now."

"Oh, don't worry about it!" Kim said, digging into her bag and pulling out the book Lucy had intended to check out, "You were taking a while, so I went ahead and checked it out under my name."

"Oh, thanks," Lucy said, taking the book, "But you really didn't have to do that..."

"Hey, it's not a big deal, as long as you get it back to me before it's due," Kim said, before leaning in and saying in a lower voice, "Besides, I don't think the librarian likes you very much. She was giving you the stink eye as you were leaving."

"Yeah, I noticed," Lucy said with a frown, "What is up with her?"

"Dunno, but it might be best if you avoided the library for a while, just to be safe," Kim suggested.

"Maybe you're right," Lucy muttered. What was with everyone today?

"But enough talk about her!" Kim said, her eyes lighting up with excitement, "Let's find a place to sit and crack open these books! Tim says this one's really good!"

Lucy raised a brow at this as they walked to the grass, "Who's Tim?"

"Oh, uh... just some guy," Kim stammered, averting her eyes from her friend.

"A hot guy?" Lucy teased.

"No, nothing like that," Kim said, though Lucy couldn't help noticing the blonde girl's nervousness.

"Uh huh, sure," Lucy said as she plopped down on the grass, a sly grin on her face, "Just let me know ahead of time if you decide to bring Tim over to the dorm, okay? Or if he brings you over to his."

"Shuddup," Kim mumbled, burying her reddening face into her book. Lucy just laughed and leaned her back against the tree behind her as she flipped open the cover of her own book to begin reading.
