Lucas and Jessica, a couple who want to take the next step

They'd only been dating for a year, but it felt like a lifetime.

Lucas and Jessica were stupidly, stereotypically in love. They met through an online dating app and the chemistry had been undeniable. After three dates, they were passionately exploring each others' bodies; five dates and they were getting to know each others' friends and families. At the six month mark they decided to move in together, and now they were taking the ultimate plunge.

Jessica stared at the small vial in her hand. It hadn't hurt, but it hadn't been pleasant either. Strange to think that her future, her heart, and her entire life sat in this strange vessel. The muddy red fluid had been extracted from her in a process that was now jumbled and dim in her memory. She smiled nervously at Lucas, holding his own tiny vial.

Once they drank, they'd be together forever.

"You ready?" Lucas asked. He chuckled lightly, a nervous tic that she'd grown to adore. It had seemed like such an obvious decision, but now that they were on the precipice of actually binding themselves to one another both seemed a little ****.

"More than ever." She tried to sound confident, but knew he could see through it. They handed the vials to each other, and she placed her hand in his.

"Bottoms up."
