Left, to the witch's forest!

Neither options sounded good, but that "spooky kitchen" sounded like a wildcard to the cheerleader. She rolled her eyes at the orb and marched to the left exit of the gym. The moment she stepped through the door, they slammed shut behind her, causing her to jump.

Veronica quickly scanned her surroundings. What had once been hallways lined with white bricks and tiles were now covered in plastic dead leaves, fake smoke, and cardboard trees stretching up to the ceiling. The fluorescent lights had also been covered with paper to make it darker. Veronica put her hand on her hip and groaned loudly. Why did everything look so cheap!? That orb could literally do anything and he covered everything with paper and plastic!

Speaking of the devil, the orb popped into existence in front of her. He was now wearing a witch's hat and was waving disembodied hands around in a spooky fashion.

"Weeeeelllllllcoooooome!" he sang. "To the Witch's...Haunted...Fooooooorreeeeeeeessssssst!" Veronica off-set her jaw. The orb was beginning to piss her off. "You have two choices innocent red riding hood! You can either go left or right, but beware! Behind every door is a monster or trap you must escape! Reach the end of the maze and you'll be finally free! Fail...and be trapped here...FOREVER!!! MWHAHAHAHAHA!"

Veronica stared at the orb with with perhaps the most irritated expression she had ever had. She lifted her hands up and made a "T" shape with them.

"Time out." she said.

"Huh?" the orb asked, his expression fading.

"Questions. Many of them. Why is everything so crappy-looking?"

"What do you mean?"

"You have god-like powers and you make everything out of paper, cardboard and plastic."

"Yeah...those are Halloween decorations." The orb said it as if it were obvious.

"You could make them real."

"If I did that, they wouldn't be decorations."

"Are you for real?" Veronica asked. "How can you be so stupid and so powerful at the same time?"

Now it was the orb's expression that fell and he narrowed his eyes. Veronica suddenly felt a streak of fear. She probably shouldn't have pissed him off.

"You know what?" the orb began, his voice tense. "Just for that, I'm making the monsters bigger and stronger! And I'm making the maze twice as long!"

"What!?" Veronica complained.

"Left or right, make your decision! I wish you the BEST of luck, and I'm SURE you can make it to the end! Then again, what do I know, being so STUPID?" The orb popped back out of existence. Veronica stood uncomfortably for a moment, unsure of what to do. She gazed down the hallway, both left and right. As far as the eye could see were cheap Halloween decorations and misty smoke. Neither way was very appealing. Veronica cursed her luck and made a decision.
