Leave the building

Searching the apartments would probably be fruitless, she reasoned, and decided to try one of the buisnesses down the street. As she entered the lobby of the apartments, she paused and listened, but heard nothing but her own voice. She carefully snuck towards the entrance, doors sitting wide open, and looked around.

Renée could see no movement save for a small cat padding along the street. She made a mental note of grocery stores and other places that might still have food she could scavenge, and the pros and cons to each. She only had so much daylight left so she got up and prepared to leave the safety of her home.
