Chapter 10
by OccasionalReader
What's next?
Leave the Library (and go on your date)
You hear announced via magic, "The library is now closing; please proceed to the exit. Library staff will take care of putting books away prior to the next morning." You make your way out of the library, and wait outside, seeing the individual who is now clearly a wizard (due to the spell book attached to his hip where a sword would typically be) exit, and approach. "We still have a couple hours of daylight left; ready for our date?" You nod, and say, "would you mind leading the way? I don't know where the place is." He chuckles, "sure; someone gave me directions the other day, if we follow them, we should get there without issue." He leads you down the main promenade, and towards the docks, until he reaches the tavern, at which point he turns down a side street and continues down it until he turns back up the way you guys came, reaching the coffee shop after a time. You internally chuckle as you realize that whoever gave him the directions gave them to him starting from the tavern. Regardless, however, you and he have arrived safely at the Maiden's Drink, which has a board on the ground outside advertising drinks such as cinnamon hot chocolate, pineapple hot chocolate, chocolate coffee, and caramel coffee.
The two of you enter, and are seated at a table by the host, who hands menus to the both of you. You see a full list of items, but eventually settle on {if@ Cleric = true}the cinnamon hot chocolate after looking it over for a short time{elseif Rogue = true}Caesar25 hasn't decided what Thurgilla orders yet. Perhaps you can suggest drinks to him{elseif Wizard = true}{elseif Fighter = true}{elseif Paladin = true}{elseif Bard = true}{else}If I did this right, only editors will see this due to the default being Cleric. Ingredients available to the cafe are obviously chocolate and coffee, as well as many things which would be available subtropically and tropically. Raspberries are not an option, and Dutch processing does not exist yet, which means that the chocolate will be marginally sour, almost neutral (Dutch processing alkalizes chocolate, whereas chocolate naturally has a pH of between 5 or 6, putting it at slightly less acidic than most other fruits (apple juice has a pH of about 4). Additionally, any custom responses for this date will need to consider two values: the Aaron love and Aaron lust hidden stats (they were initialized to 52 and 40 respectively upon meeting Aaron){endif}. You see that Aaron has already decided, and is currently waiting for your waitstaff to arrive. "So, what do you think of the whole biases against women here in Cyllian? Feel free to say what you want, although do be careful not to get the other people here pissed with us. Though it would certainly be fun to cast fireball on a bunch of misogynists, I would rather not have the library get fined for destruction of property."
What's next?
- Female PoV Date with Aaron, pt. 2
- "To be honest, it's all rather irksome. I wish that we weren't so confined by society here."
- "I mean sure there's dangers but I can't say I mind the roles that have been put on me."
- "It's kind of oppressive; I know I was raised in a position where I have a lot of privilege being clergy and all, but that's only made me wish I could upend it all even more."
Adventures in the Eternal Empire
And also Other Kingdoms on Gaea
Take the role of one of six individuals in a time of turbulence in and around the Eternal Empire. A rising threat seeks dominance and devastation against those they choose. Will you rise to become the hero the world needs? Or will you succumb to lusts, following your own desires and not even paying attention to the threats which conspire?
