Learn more about the nature of this universe through his omniscience

Author's Notes: This chapter will not feature much sex but it's quite important as far as setups go. Plus, it allows me to experiment with an idea I have not seen that much in Chyoa: use the powers of omniscience to learn more about the history and nature of the universe the god-like character just ended up on. I hope you enjoy:

You decide that while your first day in Remnant has been amazing so far, it was past time to fill some blanks you have had about the history of this world you had since watching the World of Remnant in-universe documentaries.

As a result, you end up teleporting to the roof of the dorms to watch the sunset in your new world while ensuring nothing will disturb you with a notice-me-not ward you placed around yourself. First, you learn that the time period where you are in is in the time gap between Volume 1 & 2. Nodding to yourself in understanding, you opened yourself to your omniscience more widely and searched the answer for some valuable questions about the nature of this universe and the Sibling Gods from the legend Qrow told the Team RNJR in Volume 4.

And what you learned almost made you fall from the roof in shock.

"Are you kidding me?!" You asked no one in particular with wide eyes. "Remnant is in the Cosmere dwarf galaxy?"

You double check the knowledge you were getting just to be sure and you quickly realize it was true...in a fashion. It seems that Remnant was kind off located in the same shared universe of magnificent high fantasy series made by your favorite author, Brandon Sanderson but there was a major point of divergence between the two continuities. It seems that during the Shattering, the event that destroyed Adonalsium, the so-called Power of Creation, as described by the author, and split his nigh-omnipotent essence into 16 different Shards that basically turned the wielder into a god for that specific aspect of creation; there was an unexpected side effect that none of the original Shard bearers or even world hopper known as Hoid predicted: the Shattering also made an alternate universe for the Cosmere.

In that universe, you were coming to learn, the Shattering also happened but there were many differences compared to the main continuity and one of the biggest ones was Remnant itself. With ever wider eyes, your jaw drops when you learn that the Sibling Gods from the old legend were actually alternate versions of the Shards that appeared in Mistborn; your favorite Cosmere series from Brandon Sanderson and they were equivalents for Ruin as the god of darkness and Preservation as the god of Light. Only that instead of creating the world of Scadrial and its humans, here they created Remnant and the humans and faunus.

You scratch your head. "Well, I did wanted an answer to my questions but that's certainly not what I expected," I muttered.

Thinking back to what you have read from interviews from the author, you remember that Sanderson flatly stated that his Cosmere didn't have a version of Earth which was just as well. You had no interest in going back after gaining these powers and getting to Remnant and now that you know that there are alternate versions of Cosmere worlds within these dimensional walls you will be able to have tons of fun even outside this planet without even having to move to another fictional reality. Smirking, you remember that in the world of Nalthis from Sanderson's Warbreaker series there is a religion around a Returned with a God Emperor at the top. You just might decide to get that title Cosmere-wide and with the best harem in creation at that.

Then you raise an eyebrow as you learn from your omniscience that the Shards themselves are the only entities in this reality capable of causing you any lasting harm, as their vast powers derive from the original creator god of this reality before you inserted yourself into the timeline.

You frown. It appears that only if all 16 shards were to work together in concert would they be able to permanently destroy you. That already makes their task impossible given the fact that the spiteful Shard known as Odium, from the mesmerizing Stormlight Archives saga, also destroyed the Shard of Ambition in planet of Threnody, Devotion and Dominion in the world of Sel and Honor in the Roshar system in this continuity.

You snort, realizing that his quest to become the most powerful being in the Cosmere backfired spectacularly the second you entered this realm. Still, if your omniscience is any indication and you are inclined to believe it, then if even just one shard would be able to ambush you they could give you a divine injury that could take you years to recover from even with your almost limitless powers. Moreover, if the remaining Shards were to combine their might against you then they could at most imprison you in a god-like jail like Preservation did to Ruin in Mistborn for a few million years, even if it would cost them all of their power and their lives.

You decide that that will not do but you also don't want to make it boring and just wiped them out of existence. As amazing as your omnipotence was, it also had the potential to make you terribly bored with your existence after a number of years. Having some minor rivals might actually spice things up.

So, with a silent wish, you decide to double check the current location of the remaining shards without letting them know you are onto them. Among other things you blink when you realize that the alternate Ruin and Preservation did leave the planet like Qrow said but that Salem is Ruin's champion on-world while Ozpin is Preservation's champion and that Ruin will only return to destroy the world completely if Salem and her creatures of Grimm manage to wipe out all the humans and faunus either directly or indirectly. So long as that is not the case, Preservation keeps him at bay.

So, without more preamble, you make a silent wish that will let you know when a Shard is approaching Remnant's solar system so that you can prepare for its arrival. For the time being, however, you will leave their respective dominions alone, although you are sure you will deal with Salem soon enough.

After that, you decide to just sit there and analyze just how incredible your life has become in the last 24 hours. And taking a deep breath, you decide that shards or not, you will enjoy your new life to the fullest.

Smiling at that, you watch the sunset on your first day in this brave new world.

Author's Notes: I apologize if this was a bit of an info dump but I think it would be completely irrational for him not to use his omniscience to learn more of the otherwise forgotten backstory of this world. And given that there has been very little on that front from RWBY itself despite 5 volumes, I decided to tie it in with Cosmere elements because I have seen the resemblance on the show many times. Regardless, the focus is going to be on Remnant and its characters for a long time. Other than some broad ideas for the distant future, I have no plans to incorporate females from other Cosmere worlds into the mix anytime soon, even if I alluded a bit of a cosmic harem eventually. That's not to say I am against fellow Cosmere fans to add their own branches to this thread that are more interconnected. In fact, I encourage it if any of you are interested.
