Jenny and Greg

When Greg got into the cabin he takes a seat on one side. Jenny chooses to sit on the side opposite to Greg. Being alone with a black guy is already a little uncomfortable to her. Sitting next to him would be scary.
“So how has today been so far, Jen?” Greg asks.
“It’s uhm … better than I expected.” Jenny says hesitantly.
Despite her trying to suppress it, her anxiety is coming back. A slow ride like this Ferris wheel prevents her from generating enough adrenaline to overcome it. What should she do?
“How did you think it would be?” Greg asks.
“Well, I … I … I … I …” Jenny stutters.
Suddenly Greg starts laughing.
“You know, Jen. You are kinda cute when you stutter?” He says.
Jenny looks at Greg a bit frightful and asks, “Are … are you seducing me?”
“Seduce?” Greg asks. “Well, you are pretty so I can see how you would think that. But no, I did not mean to seduce you.”
Jenny sighs. Part of her is put at ease and her anxiety dies down. It least this black guy isn’t forcing himself on her. But another part of her is slightly disappointed.
“Dammit, what’s wrong with me?” Jenny thinks to herself.
“Do you want me to seduce you?” Greg asks.
Jenny’s mouth falls open in shock. Did she just motivate him to seduce her and make her fall for him and spread her legs wide so he can plant his black seed in her white womb?
“I … no … well … I …”
Greg starts laughing again.
Knowing this time he does so because she’s stuttering, Jenny decides to simply shut up.
Greg then gets up, moves to the other side of the cabin and sit down next to Jenny.
Jenny looks up at Greg. Stares into his eyes. Her anxiety is rising again.

“I recently got out of a relationship, Jen.” Greg says. “It is not a peaceful parting either. My girlfriend cheated on me.”
Jenny sits still and simply listens.
“At this time, my mind is not focused on dating or even girls for that matter.”
He then holds his hand next to his mouth as if to whisper a secret to her, even though she is the only other person around and says, “To be honest, the only reason I agreed to join is cause Jim told me there was someone he knew. A friend of a friend, who was going through a bad time and needed some company to help her get through it.”
“Oh my god.” Jenny says and slams her palm against her forehead. “Yes, that would be me.”
“Now I’m not going to ask you about …” Greg starts, but Jenny interrupts him and says.
“I have racist tendencies.” Jenny admits.
This time it is Greg’s turn to be shocked.
“I grew up in a racist family.” Jenny explains. “So yeah, I’ve been spoon fed anti-black rhetoric my whole life. But I don’t want to be like that anymore. So Tiffany suggested some ‘exposure therapy’.”
“Aaah, so that’s what’s going on.” Greg says, finally understanding the big picture.
“So … to answer your first question … I had expected today to be a lot worse. And I am glad you and Jim have proven me I was wrong.” Jenny admits.
Greg thumps his chest once with a closed first and says, “Glad to be of service.”
Another thing Jenny didn’t expect him to do. It makes her laugh. Somehow she no longer feels any anxiety. It is as if it has all disappeared.

“You’re an amazing girl, Jen. Not many people stand up against their preconceived notions like that.” Greg says.
“Yes, well. I have a good friend watching out for me.” Jenny says as she looks at the cabin behind them.
Sadly the cabin is at such and angle she can’t see either Tiffany or Jim.
“Say, Greg.” Jenny says a bit shyly. “Would you mind if … if I could have your phone number?”
“Sure, no problem.” Greg says. “Give me your phone and I’ll put myself in.”
Jenny takes her smartphone and hands it over to Greg. Her taps his fingers on the screen a bit, then gives it back.
Among her contacts she now sees a new entry, Greg.
“Mind if I get yours too?” She hears Greg say.
Jenny looks up and sees Greg holding out his own smartphone.
Jenny takes it and starts adding a new entry among Greg’s contacts. She adds in her phone number and names the entry ‘Jen’.

Just as she gives Greg his phone back Jenny notices the cabin is back down. Time for them to get out.
They get out of the cabin and wait a bit for Tiffany and Jim to exit too.
