Jenny starts to change

The next week, when meeting Jenny on school, Tiffany notices a few subtle differences with Jenny. She seems a bit more open-minded about, well, everything. She also fiddles around a bit more with her phone than usual. Then, when someone makes a crude joke about black people, Jenny didn’t laugh. In the past she’d have found it funny, not any more apparently. Tiffany hopes the date with Greg is responsible for this, but she can’t really know for sure.
When Jenny is fiddling with her phone again, Tiffany leans in closer and steals a peak at the screen of Jenny’s phone.
Tiffany first reads a text from Greg saying, “You want us to meet up again?”
The she reads a message from Jenny. “Yeah, I still got some preconceptions about black people. Most of them false, probably. I think it would be good for me to spend some more time with black people.
When she checks what Jenny is currently typing she reads, “And you’re the only black guy I really know so …”
“Aww, you’re making another date with Greg?” Tiffany teases her friend.
Jenny covers her phone with her hand and says, “What? … no!”
“Come on, I could read it.” Tiffany says, “You’re totally setting up for another date with Greg.”
Jenny sighs and says, “I swear, you have no respect for privacy.”
“Don’t worry, Jenny.” Tiffany says as she lays an arm across her friend’s shoulders. “I won’t think any less of you for having a black boyfriend.”
Suddenly Jenny starts laughing.
“Oh please. I’m not in love with him, Tiffany.” Jenny says. “Being a snowbunny is more your thing.”
“What’s a snowbunny?” Tiffany asks.
Jenny blushes and says, “Uh, never mind.”

Tiffany chooses not to push the issue any longer. She remembers how she discovered interracial porn on Jenny’s computer. The poor girl is clearly interested in having a black boyfriend. It’s just her conservative upbringing getting in the way.
At least it’s good she’s making new dates on her own already. The more exposure she has to a good black guy like Greg, the easier it’ll be for her to become liberal.
