After waving goodbye at her daughter, Jennifer started the engine and got off the high school parking lot. She decided to turn the radio back on and switch for a music station, but to her surprise she could not change the channel. It was like the device was broken and could only receive the one emitting this weird psychologist interview.

"...o you were saying some mother-daughter dynamics call for romantic and sexual relationships more than others?" the radio host asked.

"Yes... You certainly know about this old cliché of 'if they're fighting it means the love each other'? Well, it turns out in some cases there's truth to it. Parents and children sharing great complicity and living in perfect harmony? I have yet to see an instance where bringing **** into the mix would make things better. But I dare to say when a mother and daughter are constantly at each other's throat, constantly arguing over small and big things at every opportunity, it's often a symptom of unresolved sexual tensions that should be worked upon."

"What the fuck?!" the redhead mother exclaimed in disbelief. She tried to turn off the radio again, but it looked like the on/off button also oddly refused to work.

"Aren't you afraid that an abusive mother would use your research as an excuse to have sex with their daughters without their consent?"

"To be honest, it also bothers me so I have to make things clear: If a mother is basically a bully and her daughter lets herself be pushed around, a sexual relationship between them would be as abusive as the rest of their relationship. And if she just ignores her authority without showing any anger, it's usually pretty clear that she has no romantic interest in her progenitor. However, if the daughter fights back with energy... well, from my experience, said energy is usually more repressed arousal than actual rage and is sometimes mistaken for disrespect or territoriality."

"And do you have any examples of other hints of underlying... let's say incestual lesbian connection between mother and daughter?" the host asked, hugely interested judging by her tone.

"Oh, there are plenty, really. For instance, when the mother often disapproves of her daughter's outfit which she deems too revealing. In this kind of dynamics, it often means she actually wants her daughter all to herself and doesn't want anyone else to profit from the fruits she took care of, in a sense. On the other end, the daughter is more often than not sending a message that there's actually only one person she wants to look at her... And in a sense, a strong reaction will convince the daughter that her mother indeed pay attention to her and she will thus be encouraged in her path."

Jennifer braked a bit too abruptly at the red light. All of this was ridiculous, she certainly wasn't attracted to her daughter... right? Yet now that she thought about it, she felt like every time she scolded Casey for her outfit, the teenage girl became even more provocative in the following days. Did it mean...

No, if she gave any credit to this fraud of a psychologist, she would have to admit she was into her own flesh and blood and she certainly wasn't!

"A teenage daughter may also intentionally or subconsciously cause apparently accidental situations in which her mother will have to spend time with her or acknowledge her newfound sex appeal. For instance, ladies, your kid may not have really forgotten to lock the door while showering."

She froze. It couldn't be a coincidence, could it? This exact situation happened a few minutes ago. And wait, with Casey's car being repaired, they were **** to spend more time together when she drove her to school.

"That's interesting. And I have to admit it resonates deeply with my experience as a rebellious daughter. Now that I think about it, Mom if you listen to me, I'm sorry for all I put you through and I hope I wasn't too much of an insufferable brat in my teenage years."

"Well, as I said, it usually works both ways. I have to ask, are you currently in good terms with your mother?"

A long pause. "Not really. We didn't speak to each other in ages, and I'm thinking maybe... Could it have something to do with what you were talking about?"

"I'm sorry to hear that, Julie. I have to guess you were never... intimate with your mother, not this way at least...? Yeah, I didn't think so. Well, even though my researches are far from concluded, I have to say this: I have studied a large range of families with lots of mother-daughter in-fighting, and a surprisingly large amount of them ended up sleeping with each other. In this case, only 6% then go back to their former discords. For 17%, it's a one time or occasional thing but they rarely fight again, at least not with the same intensity. 45% start having a secret affair. Finally, in 32% of those cases, the mother leaves the father to focus on her relationship with her daughter."

"Wow! That's... quite the impressive number. And what about those who never have sex?"

The scientist sighs, "92% of the time, the mother never hears from her daughter again after she leaves home. At least that's the current numbers, we would probably need a few more years for more thorough data. Of the 8 remaining percents, 5 end up in hostile relationships, 2 are more cordial and 1... well I saw some truly terrible tragedies happen. Let's just say sometimes **** with your own daughter is the healthiest and happiest course of action."

The beautiful housewife paled. She certainly didn't want her relationship with her daughter to be ruined to the point of never seeing her again, or worse, and she had to admit Casey was such a beautiful girl and full of life... But what was she thinking? She definitely didn't have sexual thoughts about her daughter, she wasn't even a lesbian! So none of this applied to her, right?
