A field study gone wrong

The university of Oxford tended to have a strict policy regarding field trips across the pond. America wasn't the close ally it had once been. Since the turn of the last century, things have gotten progressivley worse and now the country was completely cut off from Europe. Men reigned there now. They always had of course, but they were taking it to the ****. A Maledome Republic they called it. The United Maledome States of Republican America, or UMSRA. Emma had been studying anthropology at Oxford for close to five years now. It had long been her intention to write her masters thesis on the happiness (or lack thereof) of women in the vile freeuse state of The United Maledome States of Republican America, or UMSRA.

She was reading in the university library when her professor, Mr. Woodacre, entered and told her she would get the chance to go conduct a field study in UMSRA. This was highly unusual, but Emma was not about to question her professor on this.

She was exited, of course, this had been a dream of hers. To get to the belly of the beast, so to say, and fight the patriarchy on its home turf. At the same time, she was absolutley terrified.
