A field study gone wrong

Note: This is obviously a work of fiction but to be perfectly clear, non (or very few) of the behaviours displayed in this story are acceptable. Emma had been studying feminist theory at the gender studies program of Oxford for close to five years now. It had long been her intention to write her masters thesis on the happiness (or lack thereof) of women in the vile freeuse state of The United Maledome States of Republican America, or UMSRA.

She was reading in the university library when her professor, Mr. Woodacre, entered and told her she would get the chance to go conduct a field study in UMSRA.

She was exited, of course, this had been a dream of hers. To get to the belly of the beast, so to say, and fight the patriarchy on its home turf. At the same time, she was absolutley terrified.
