Chapter 10 by Chip_Arranger Chip_Arranger

A love score?

Inspect further

You open up Amy's profile. The green bar at the top right is almost full, with just a small sliver remaining until you hit the coveted 150 affection points. You wondered what, if anything, would happen when that happened.

Underneath that top bar, the second bar was no longer grayed out. The same white line was in the middle, and a small pink bar jutted out to the right of the white bar. Next to the bar, it read "Love Points: 5".

A little pop-up appeared in the corner of your screen that said "Love Points show a person's romantic interest in you. Similar to affection points, they are on a scale up to 150. A score of 50 is usually where most teenagers start dating, whereas a score of 100 is typically around where most happily married couples fall. If a person reaches a score of 150 with you, they will be completely romantically devoted to you".

Well that was useful information. Does that mean that Amy was starting to see you in that light?

"Hey, doofus, the light's green now", Amy said. Man, she was really good at taking you out of your daydreaming.

"Oh, whoops", you said.

"Did you get caught up playing one of those mobile games again? I swear, you and your phone are like peanut butter and jelly. Totally inseparable".

"Hey, at least I can manage all of these classes well. I'm not getting a 52 in calculus".

"Well you try having my calculus teacher and then you can tell me how easy it is".

"I gladly will".

You both do your shopping together, throwing a bunch of stuff in the carts. At one point, Amy jumps into the cart and you push her along the soup aisle. The two of you have lunch together, and she's unusually nervous and fidgety the entire time. Around 3, the two of you are done with all of the errands you had to run for the whole day, and you part ways as you go back to your dorm room with admittedly, a lot more than you originally thought you were going to the store for.

As you enter your room, you throw yourself onto the bed, wondering what happened with Amy. She turned from really good, sarcastic, but still present friend to a nervous wreck during the time you two were out running from store to store. Almost like...

Wait, you need to consult the Affection Multiplier for this. Even though people were people, not merely numbers on a screen, you had to admit that the numbers on a screen were incredibly helpful when it came to trying to figure out people.

Pearson, Amy

Affection Score: 150 (+11) MAX!

Love Score: 24 (+19)

Lust Score: 3 (+3)

There was a pop-up that appeared when you opened her profile. Actually, two. The first one said "You have now unlocked the third relationship category covered by the Affection Multiplier: lust scores. These points show a person's sexual interest in you. Just like the other two types of points, they are on a scale up to 150 points."

You closed that pop-up, then looked at the second one, which said "You have now completely maxed out a person's affection score! That's no small feat! You have unlocked the Traits shop. Each time you maximize a person's score, you get 150 of that score's currency (Affection currency for Affection score, Love currency for Love score, and Lust currency for Lust Score). Why not take a look?"

Holy shit.

Do you take a look?
