In the walls.

The hollow walls seem like the best place to start, as you are already aware of most spots, especially the basement. Not to mention, all the tools you need came with the house and are in there. Only, they're a little old-fashioned. Beautiful, but old-fashioned.

As you have already familiarised yourself with the house, you know which door leads where. Sadly, there are no lights in the house. You only have your phone's flashlight at your disposal as you step down to the basement, only stopping within an arm's reach of a tool case.

'Hammer...' you consider with a silent voice, spotting one a few moments later.

Brushing aside the rest of the tools, you pick it up, feeling the uneven grip for a better grasp. The wooden body is rough but feels like it can take a strike.

'Nice.' you remark, satisfied with your findings.

Once you finish fiddling with it, you turn to your left, tapping the basement wall with its flat head.

It definitely sounds hollow. Confident in your choice, you raise the hammer as you shield your eyes with your other arm. Immediately, you embed the hammer's claw into the wall with a powerful strike, sending splinters throughout the room. The rotten wood gives little resistance as you pull, breaking off as small pieces rather than as chunks.

You repeat the process again and again, until you can squeeze through the hole you've made. Your phone's flashlight is more than enough to light up the entire space. However, it would be a lie if you said you didn't feel a little disheartened.

There's nothing inside.
