I Reluctantly Agree

My smile widens, and amusement is clear in my voice, I reply, "Ok, Ok . . I'll go. I just hope my towel does not drop off me while I'm here, or they get to see a lot more of me than I would have bargained for." I reply to Tori, whose face is full of both surprise and happiness.

"Good, you shouldn't miss it. You'll get to meet my boyfriend, have some crepes, and maybe even become somebody's girl! won't that be fanatic? You make some effort to look excited, as you step off the elevator on the third floor. You watched sadly, as the doors closed behind you, and the lift started down again. That is before you hear an odd clashing of gears and the elevator stops between floors. Well, maybe is just as well that I got off when I did.

I followed behind Tori, as she walked to one of the condos on that level. She stops in front of the door, nocks several times, and soon the two of you are led in. Moments after entering, I found myself in the kitchen. In the center was a table set with several place settings already set out, and food was being served. The smell alone elicited more grumbling from my staunch, which must have turned traitor on me, someone, last night.

As the two apparent mates looked up at me, I heard Tori in per usual, personal happiness say, "Oh, this is Bridget. She lives on the same floor I do, and when I found out she was single, I just had to invite her down so she could meet you, Steve. I can't just let two single people in the same building stand like that! Besides, I'm just sure she had not a bite to eat yet!"

"Nice to meet you. She's not wrong on the haven't eaten anything yet. I was headed down for a shower when we met in the elevator on the way down. She insisted on just how good your crepes are, so here I am. I saw the two bachelors give each other a knowing look before Steve said, "It's ok. She can be a busybody, but she means well and she really does just want to help. Here, let me grab you a chair and a place setting. We'll love to have you join us."
