Heck no.

The idea of following the monster to its lair, killing it, and taking its treasure pops in your head as that is exactly what you would do if you were playing a video game. “Ya, fuck that.” Now that it is real, you head the opposite direction quickly. Over the next few hours winding your way through the labyrinthine tunnels several times you see movement, but thankfully as you suspected all the little critters have no interest in messing with something on fire.

About three hours later you hear a voice, “Who are you, girl?”

Hearing the question, you realize you have no idea, “Depends on who is asking. Come out into the light.” You demand.

Stepping out cautiously are a trio of 4’ tall grey skinned humanoids with huge eyes that almost glow in the light of the fire. “You came from the forbidden tunnel. Did you kill the monster?”

“No, sorry. I hurt it but I'm sure it will live.”

They seem upset by this as well as not quite as afraid of you. “Maybe you give us your gold.” The lead one says.

Belching a bit of fire you say, “Maybe I burn you to ash.” And just like that, they are gone. They run silent and swift, you can't even see a trace of them. “Well shit, they might have known the way out.”

Continuing on using the same wall to follow, several hours later you find an ancient looking set of rungs leading up a wall. Climbing up the rungs takes you to a landing and a very old door. Sadly no amount of tugging can get the old door to budge. With no better idea presenting itself you dig into your pack and drink the strength potion. With a good yank the door snaps unstuck and you pull it open. Stepping out of the sewer you find yourself in someone's basement or cellar. It is nice and cool and full of casks of wine and open crates holding all sorts of food. A wooden staircase, old but strong looking leads up to a door. As you get closer to the stairs you are sure you can hear the clang of metal on metal as well as metal on wood. “Great, a battle.” However the smell of delicious food hits your nose hinting at something else.
