Chapter 10 by Amagine Amagine

What happens next?

Heather heard everything

"So," Heather said, as she helped Victoria make sandwiches. "Having fun?"

Victoria's hands stiffened. "Good. It's going good."

And I'm thinking of banging your douchebag cousin, Heather sarcastically added on, but said: "Good. But just in case, remember, it's my job to make sure everyone's having a good time. If something..." She imagined all the nasty things that could happen with Kurt. "...goes wrong, just let me know, alright?"

Victoria looked at her, raised her eyebrow, and for a moment she worried she hadn't been subtle enough. But then she realized it wasn't her she'd been looking at.

"Hey, how's lunch coming?" Kurt said, from behind her.

"Oh. Good. It's going good," Victoria twisted her head. Her hands completely abandoned the sandwiches.

"Sorry for interrupting, I just couldn't get you out of my head," Kurt said.

Victoria grinned

Heather sighed, and reached over to finish Vicky's sandwiches. She tuned out the awful conversation and thought, hard. She really did just want everyone to have fun on this trip, yet, at the same time, they were bringing in all this drama from the real world. The only people who didn't have issues, as far as she could tell, were Brandon and Ashley. But she wouldn't be surprised if they were just keeping quiet about it.

"Well, that's all we needed," Heather said, and started walking toward the window. "I'll let them know."

But when she reached it, just about to tap, she heard muffled voices through the glass.

"Damn, look at her laughing at everything he says," Zach's voice.

Heather moved out of eyesight, and eavesdropped like a professional. It was a talent she'd honed over the years, learning to gather juicy gossip between classes.

Apparently, Zach was even sweeter on Victoria than she'd thought, and though Heather tried to stay out of these things, she thought Vicky would be better off with Zach, too. Chloe's bikini problem wasn't going away, and Gavin wouldn't even look up from his phone to interact with people. Probably because of nervousness.

Heather was tired of this. Her friends needed to get over their issues so they could all have a fun Spring Break. But she was only one person; and there were three of them right out there. Which one needed her help most?

She almost forgot to tap on the window, and did so, deciding to consider it at lunch.

While they ate, she looked between the different people sitting at the table. Zach, trying to avoid looking at Victoria, but doing a terrible job, Chloe, keeping her breasts as obscured as she possibly could, and Gavin, obviously playing with his phone under the table.

Who does Heather decide to help?
