Gentle rolling plains

You gaze at the vast amber plains before you dotted with soft rolling hills, while the star tinges everything slightly red; it seems to be something out of a movie. The hills build up into a genuinely beautiful mountain range capped with massive amounts of snow, the edges having a pink halo around the shadowy sides. The rain has went away and has been replaced by a rainbow, or well what you could consider a rainbow; its red beaming a brilliant scarlet.

"Wow," you manage out, almost forgetting the heavy metal box in your arms.

You move about 50 yards from the gate and set the box down gently, looking inside afterward to make sure Hansen is "OK."

"Looks like a great place to be buried," you tell him after closing the lid again.

"I still cannot believe that you helped create all the life here" you state as you tap on the box turned coffin.

You pick up the shovel and begin digging on the side of a hill facing towards the mountains. Just so he could have a beautiful view, you tell yourself. Maybe that will help him forgive you for playing with his skull.

Before you begin you remember your parents, they are burned up and gone, you wish you could have buried them too, at least. You shake yourself of the thought, need to keep moving forward you tell yourself.

You push your shove into the dirt, it's soft an almost clay-like and black, the rain causing the top layers to turn wet, you pull out another chunk. At least this place is very similar to earth, you think.

For the next two hours, you continue to dig into the soft, wet, soil, your now enhanced form finding the task to be more than easy to accomplish. After reaching around 5 ft in-depth you stop and climb back out, your clothes are covered in the black soil.

You lookout to see if anything is coming your way, then when you see nothing, you pick up Hansen and place him gently into the hole.

You climb back out and pick up the next shovel full from the pile to fill it back in.

"Um, Goodbye" is all you can think to say to him as the first shovel-full hits the box. "Sorry for how shitty your time here probably was, but you made this place beautiful for the rest of us."

You quickly fill in the hole leaving a black mound where you buried him. You gaze around the idealistic landscape before picking up your tools and heading back in.
