You renter the old colony, moving under the rusted gate, and turning around you **** it closed again.

"Best not let a creature just walk in." You say to no one.

You turn around and see a watchtower near the middle of the settlement, off to the west side of the main building. While its mass is flecked with some rust overall, it seems to be in quite a good condition.

"I should see if I can get a look around," you say, moving towards the tower.

You move past the various "houses" of the settlement. The houses are typical human prefab structures. You get a better idea of the conditions of the homes, 5 seem to be in terrible shape, seemingly ripped apart by some unknown entity and the white protective paint mostly stripped away. 14 are repairable and range from barely salvageable to seemly OK with only rust around the edges, and the occasional strange hole punched out. The other 5 are in excellent condition only rare rust on their domed structures.

You reach the tower, it rises next to the main building, right next to the curve in the C of the structure. It looks like it grows just 40 meters off the ground, 15 meters higher than the main building. A thin white building, it has an almost shear conical like appearance.

You move to enter the door at the base of the tower, the door surprisingly opens easily. Making a whoosh like sound, that startles you.

"Right the power is back on" you chuckle.

It is the first door outside of the main building that has opened easily to you, you did not expect it to open.

You look up into the structure, it is rather dull, you see the curved square metal plates that were welded together to make it. On the far side sits a simple metal ladder leading up to the top.

"Well, that's not terrifying" You look at the unprotected ladder leading 40 meters up to the top.

"Here goes nothing" You begin your slow journey up.
