Final Goodbyes

Chapter 3 Goodbye and Hello the Open Road

You race home to show your mom your new companion. As you enter she's waiting on you. Treeko hops off your shoulders and investigates her.

"Hello little guy." She smiles and Treeko nuzzles her hand.

"You two take care of each other now."

You look at a box placed in her lap

"Whats that?" you ask

"A parting gift. I may be a retired trainer but I still have my contacts. I got you and Sapphy some top of the line travel shoes. Same brand that sponsored me back in the day. I still remember the photo shoot they had me pose topless on top of Mt….."

"MOM" you interject

"Haha I wondered how long you'd let me go on before you interrupted. Try them on now"

You shake the image of your mother out of your head and put the hikers on. They are sleek but rugged black shoes with good tread. Man do they feel comfortable.

"These feel great mom, thank you so much!"

"No problem honey I guess it's almost time for you to head out I suppose."

Suddenly feeling guilty that fear of leaving home begins to crop up. Seemingly reading you mind she puts her hand on your shoulder.

"Honey I'll miss you but I want you to go out there and explore. It's not like you're going away forever just the league season. Even then you can come back anytime get a flying type of a Pokémon that knows teleport. Your father and I are also just one call away. With how much work I do at the study ranch Birch has already said he'd let me borrow a psychic type to teleport around. Not to mention my own team, I can still fly anywhere."

"Thanks mom it is hard leaving but I appreciate knowing you'll be okay and always supporting me."

"No problem dear now if you need any motivation to hit the road I can tell you what your father and I have planned for his days off……"

EW EW EW EW is the only way to describe the way your face contorts at hearing that.

She bursts into laughter "Love you son"

"Love you mom"

With goodbyes out of the way you pick up your pack and strap it on. It's time to hit the road.

You meet Saph at the edge of town. She's wearing a tight tank top that hugs the curves of her body and really draws your eyes to her chest. Further down are her Capri pants for summer and a very familiar looking pair of shoes. Hers are a deep blue with silver trim.

"Getting an eye full perv?" she smiles

"Of course I am with a top that tight, I might walk into a tree looking at your tits."

"Try not to knock yourself out before you lose to me."

You both chuckle.

"You're not so bad yourself a simple t shirt and pants but you always get tight fitting ones that show off your ass." she says as she gives you a quick smack on the rear.

"Alright let's get moving too Oldale before you lose your resolve and submit to me before we even battle." You say smugly.

"In your dreams lame brain."

You both set off north. You have walked this path a lot but never as trainers. Briefly you both contemplate capturing a Pokémon but your brains are still focused on the upcoming battle. While you know no matter who wins you both will have a good time there is the all important factor about this battle…….Bragging rights.

The sun begins to creep low in the sky. You and Sapphire stop to pick some Oran Berries both as snacks for you and your Pokémon.

As you see the light of Oldale in the distance. The sun is setting and the sky is a beautiful red and pink…….it's time.
