Chapter 4 The First of Many

You both look at each other.

"It's time'" you say almost in unison.

"Couldn't be more thematic a battle at sunset." you say.

"Perfect stage to kick your ass and have you eat mine all night." She exclaims.

"That the stakes you want? Loser…..you spending the night at my beck and call."

"Why not I'm gonna be on research duty for bit might as well use you to get it all out." she grins

You two open your dexs and the battle tracker app with a quick tap you both are officially in the league.

You both grab your pokeballs and release your partners.

"Battle time guys do your best and don't focus on the result." Sapphire says to both your Pokémon

"She's right, no pressure on either of you, let's have fun."

Your Pokémon assume ready stances.

Sapphire: Get in close and use scratch

Torchic dashes forward using her little wings to launch herself at Treeko

You: Stay nimble, dodge her attacks, wear her down.

Treeko side steps the first attack and spins around the second.

You: Leap over her and use pound

Treeko begins to backflip over the fire chicken but just as he does.

Saphhire: Use your wings to jump and drag him down.

Torchic leaps up and grabs Treeko by the arm and slams him into the dirt. She without direction immediately goes into a follow up attack.

You: Treeko, use your tail and pound !

Sapphire tries to warn her partner but it's too late. Treeko facing the other way feels the gush of air as Torchic hops into another scratch. His tail connects with the bird and knocks her out of the air. She hits the ground shaken but still in the fight.

You don't tell Treeko to pursue fearing a reversal like Treeko did to her a moment ago. That may have been a mistake as Torchic is able to recover.

Sapphire: Atta girl you're doing great, now get in close again for scratch be patient on following up.

Torchic charges even faster now as she's urged on by her trainer.

You: dodge again.

Treeko attempts the same side step as before but Torchic pivots on her off leg and swipes him.

He is thrown off balance but still standing.

You: Use your speed, get close and pound.

Torchic evades the first few but eventually one connects but Treeko takes a scratch in return.

Sapphire: Wait for your opening and end this!

The Pokémon trade minor blows more and more, each getting closer to the brink.

Then you think of an idea.

You: Drag your tail and Spin!

Treeko obeys understanding what you're going for. He sweeps with his tail chop blocking the Torchic. As she stumbles he follows up with a pound and Torchic is sent to the ground.

As the dust clears Torchic is left unable to battle Treeko is the winner.

Treeko pants heavily on one knee and stumbles over to the fallen bird and makes sure she's okay.

"Seems like Uncle Birch had them socialized and they became friends." Sapphire smiles.

The site is very cute as you both walk over to your respective partners.

"You did great buddy I'm so proud of you. Don't worry she'll be okay she's just worn out." Treeko half nods you don't think he has the energy to to fully nod.

"Rest now partner, you'll be right as rain soon." As you recall him to his ball

Sapphire cuddles her exhausted partner. "You did so well sweetie I'll get you fixed up and some treats tomorrow." Then she recalls her to her ball.

Sapphire looks at you.

"Well you won, you get me for a night at your sadistic whim." She cant keep her face straight as she laughs at the last part.

You grab her hand and begin walking the short distance to town.

"Ooo holding hands I bet you're already half way to cumming." She grins as she leans on you.

"I'm surprised you can still walk straight with how weak in the knees you must be." you rebuttal with a laugh.

A moment of silence happens as you two trudge towards the entrance of town.

"That was a great battle either one of us could have won." You say softly. Worrying your best friends confidence may be hurt.

"No doubt we both have a lot to learn though if we are gonna be world class. If you think I'm all busted up over one loss, keep dreaming softie." She replies with a sarcastic arrogant tone.

"Haha just making sure you're okay. What kind of a bestie would I be if I didn't worry about you."

"I know you are. That's why I'm okay with you being my first loss. You're one of the most important people to me in the world. I would call you a brother but considering what we are about to do that sounds creepy." she says

"What your depraved mind doesn't s like ****." you laugh

Squeezing her hand tightly,"Seriously though you are so important to me I'm happy we are this close. No matter who we sleep with or date nothing is gonna break us apart."

You two reach the Pokémon center doors and look at each other.

"I have your back until the end or at least until you get a hot girlfriend I can steal." She smirks widely.

"What we can't share her you greedy bitch." you say in mock anger.
