Fighting Competition

I’m sure I’ll enjoy being your partner.” The matriarch says, handing a hand sized disk artifact to you. The artifact is only fourth grade, but it’s common for utility artifacts to be of lower grade. You put it away for now, deciding to refine it later.

“I have other’s that I’m with. Will that be an issue?” You ask her.

“I’m your woman, it doesn’t matter if there are other’s! Besides, I didn’t become matriarch by only sleeping with one man all the time. I’m quite use to group play.” The matriarch responds.

“We’ll so your clear, the group consists of Qian Rong,Song Shu, Mao Zemin, and I.” You explain.

“So your the reason they performed so well? They all did quite well.” The matriarch relplies, making you glad that they did well.

“For now let’s clean up! The fighting competition starts soon, and I’m interested to see how you do.” The matriarch says, before getting up. When you finish getting cleaned, you head to your place and crash, after going so long without sleep. When you wake, you find Qian holding you.

“Morning sleepyhead! It’s almost time for the competition.” She says, before kissing you.” Let’s go! Don’t wanna be late!” She cheerfully exclaims. You quickly freshen up, before heading out to the competition. This one utilized the numbering system again, to call disciples to the various arenas. Your first few matches were a cake walk, simply pushing them out as they were weak, and unskilled. Though the strength of the individuals improved fast, you can see that their sword skills are pathetic. You don’t even pull your sword out for most of the fights, instead utilizing your power to simply overwhelm them. That is until, you finally face a core disciple! You noticed his white robes as core disciples right away, and immediately drew your sword.

“I’m Zou Meng, and I wish to see just how well you do against me.” He says smiling. You sense he’s at the eighth level, though quickly assess that your not much weaker, due to your true qi quality. As he draws his sword, he unleashes the strongest sword intent you’ve seen from a fellow disciple, clearly he wasn’t ordinary. You decide to release your sword will. You hear the spectators freak out as they see your sword will, even Zou becomes astonished. You both dash forth, and begin clashing blades. At first you hold back, wanting to enjoy a real sword fight, as the others proved quite boring to push out. After a few minutes though, you go all out, quickly pinning him down with your sword.

“Incredible! To think you were a true sword master! At least now I don’t feel bad for losing, thank you letting see your skill!” Zou says bowing, before leaving the arena. You faced several other core disciples, but none were as skilled as Zou was, showing just rare practicing fighting really is. Before long, you finally come out on top! The matriarch slightly blushes at you, as she announces it. Soon after, the placement of the disciples was decided. You were given the top position of the core disciples, and come to find that the others succeeded in advancing to course disciples, though not quite as high ranked! You were than givin resources. Pills that increase yin or yang qi production, and one of the sect’s famous seductive lotus pills, which can improve your yang qi. You were also granted a hefty sum of contribution points.

Once everything was over, you all checked out your new homes. Yours was practically the size of a mansion, since your the top core disciple. It even comes with servants to maintain it. This leads to everyone deciding to stay at your place. The matriarch joins your celebration, as you all start to cultivate with each other, into the night. After the celebration, you seclude yourself to refine the seductive lotus pill. Unlike working as expected it though, it instead effects the volatile lotus, making it Yang qi far calmer. Though this means you didn’t gain immediate benefits, it does mean you need less ying qi to refine it’s volatile yang qi, greatly improving your cultivation speed, and the benefits for your partners.

After a few days have passed, one of your servants comes to tell you, that you have a visitor. This makes you quite curious, as you can’t think of anyone who would visit you. You freshen up, and head to the door.
