Family Dinner

As you sit there, you notice people begin to trickle in to the dining room. First is a boy, probably in his teens, who sets his flaming greatsword on the weapon rack, then seats himself next to you. He turns and raises his eyebrow, saying nothing more. Then comes a young woman who doesn't have any weapons at all, although she clearly has a spell component pouch at her side. She takes her seat next to the void next to you. Lastly comes {if Persephone = true}Persephone{else}a woman{endif}, her light green dress flowing, flowers briefly spawning behind her with every step. She looks to the head of the table. "Any idea where your father is?" she asks to the woman. "No, mother, I don't have any clue. He went out earlier and didn't say where he was going." {if Persephone = true}Persephone{else}The woman{endif} sighs, shaking her head. "And what of Macaria? Is she late again?"

The conversation is interrupted as two figures walk through the door. The first is the aforementioned father, clearly Hades{if Hades = true}, which would make the older woman Persephone{endif}. Hades reaches over to Persephone and embraces her, kissing her on the lips. "Hello, my love. I apologize for the delay, I was waylaid elsewhere." The cloaked figure takes off her cloak, setting it on the coat rack and her scythe on the weapon rack, now clearly Macaria. "Is Zagreus not coming again?" Macaria sighs, "he said he has business elsewhere." Looking at the woman, she clearly resembles her mother, shapely curves now exposed without the cloak. She looks towards you, "I'm taken; besides even if I wasn't I try not to involve myself too heavily in my parents' affairs." Damn.

As dinner commences, you learn that the individual sitting next to you is Dikases, the woman two away across from the void spot Helikia. The question starts to form in your mind as you start to purse your lips to ask, but Macaria simply shoots you a fierce look and gently shakes her head, as if warning you from broaching the topic.

After initial introductions are completed and food is passed around, the subject turns to you: "So, we were thinking that tomorrow Macaria would take you to Charon's ferry and back to the realm of mortals." Macaria's eyes briefly light up but then fade back to something approaching irritation. However, Hades' words had a sense of finality to them. You don't feel that this is up for debate. Sensing the uneasy agreeance, Hades says "well, how about we have a farewell song for our mortal friend" as he pulls out a ukulele. Macaria and Persephone both have their backs fill with tension while Dikases and Helikia simply pull out earplugs. Oh no you think, is it really that bad? "Hades," Persephone starts, "you know I love you but I simply must insist that you not play." "Oh come come, let's have some fun!" "Dad, no, please, don't do this." Meanwhile while the two try to prevent the apparent atrocity that is Hades' playing, you see that Dikases and Helikia already have their earplugs in. Suddenly, a horrid cacophony of music streams from the ukulele. Okay, maybe it really is that bad.{if Hades = true}{if Cleric = true} Perhaps a change of deity is in order.{endif}{endif} After you and the two older women endure the impromptu concert of ****, dinner starts wrapping to a close. "Feel free to explore around the house if you wish, or you could just head to bed - take one of the guest rooms, there's plenty," Hades states. "Just stay out of any locked rooms - some of them are locked for a reason."
