Everything is there, but covered by equipment

Melissa saw her skirt on top of the counter, and could see the bib and the sleeve of her shirt underneath it. She reached to grab them but the dentist sternly "ahem"-ed and she stopped.

She looked and saw that a pump for the dentist's waterjet was on top of her clothes. She meekly asked the dentist "umm, sir, can I move that, please? My clothes are under it."

"Well," the dentist sternly talked down at her while looking her up and down, "this is very fragile and moving it will interrupt our cleaning process. You'll just have to wait."

"Yes, sir," Melissa meekly looked down at the floor while she waited for the cleaning to finish. Lucky for her, the patient's head was turned away from her for the cleaning, so he didn't yet see her condition.
