Elf.

I would have liked more choices, but that aside I was rather impressed. The only standard fantasy race amongst them was the elf.
Of course that meant that the staple classics were absent. There were no orcs and no dwarves. Of course if they only chose one traditional race to keep then elf would be the clear choice. From their lean build and beautiful faces to their iconic pointy ears, the elves of fantasy has represented epicness, mystery and magic for generations. They are ancient beings who live for centuries, guard sacred places and live in accordance with nature. It also makes sense that, if you really wish to forego humans as an option, that the elves would replace them. After all, what can humans do that elves can't do better?

Grace and wisdom... I could think of worse traits to have, and it seems this is the race to use for those who wants to practice magic. It also seemed like... like an improvement from my earlier life. Of course I don't doubt there are good points for the other options as well, but they seem more like a 'change' than an 'improvement.' Picking elf would basically make me a human with pointy ears, only more beautiful and with a longer lifespan; something that humans definitely could use.
I scroll down to examine further details of the elven race. A wall of text wherein the information was listed in bullet points was provided. All that information was too meaty to digest, even if I did have the context to make sense of most of it, which I hadn't. I just scrolled down throuh the relevant information, looking through the text for information I found particularly alarming or interesting.
I found that the Inherent Skills of the elves were: Charisma, Stealth, Healing and Magic Resistance. I didn't know exactly what those were supposed to do, nor what an Inherent Skill was supposed to be, but none of them sounded like I needed to kill things, or risk dying, in order to use them; which is convenient because killing and dying were two things I planned on not doing in my new life. True, a means of self-defence would indeed be useful, but maybe if I learned to use these skills then maybe, just maybe, I won't need to rely on weapons.
That's when I noticed the average height of the elf; between 112 and 130 quoplids. I didn't know how much a quoplid was, but I guessed it was the local measurement of distance. Fortunately a conversion tool was available. I scrolled through the various options until I got to how much it was in feet.
Nine foot three!? Nine foot three was the shortest, and the longest was ten foot six!
These guys are giants!
Not only did they get the smarts, and the grace, and the magic; they were unfathomably large in stature as well!
Looks like I had found my option.

"I'll pick the elf." I said.
Bleep! Bloop! "You have picked: Elf." What appeared inside the white void instead of the mannequinn both alarmedand confused me. The creature had stubby leg, lean arms and the slightest hint of a pot-belly protruding from a lithe frame. He was wearing green wool tunic which skirt reached just above the knees.
He was what you would consider handsome, at least, with thick golden curls hanging down and ending just short of his shoulders. But rather than being a traditionally androgynous beauty normally associated with elves, he had a round face with a button nose right between a pair of big, green eyes.
He was cute!
I didn't want to be cute!
That was't what I wanted at all!

"Look, this is all wrong! I wanted the badass Tolkien elves, not the goofy Rice Crispey elves! Change it back! Immediately!"
