Diana's Door

[Author's note: this branch of the story is the closest to straight up horror. Reader discretion advised.]

Jessica wanders down the hallway in her robe, no real destination in mind.

She passes a door and hears loud moaning from the other side. She is still aroused from breakfast and let's her curiosity drive. She pushes the door open a crack and peeks in.

Jessica freezes, her head spinning. A vampiress she has never seen before is wearing a dress, heels and a lab coat. She looks older, with greying hair, but her face and figure are very appealing. Four captive human females are chained, naked, to the wall, their mouths gagged, their eyes frantically darting.

In the middle of the room is a monstrous contraption, resembling the iron maidens Jessica as seen in her textbooks, but more cage like. The vampiress goes to the wall and unhooks a captive, dragging her to the contraption. She throws the panicked girl inside and presses a button on the machine. The doors slam shut, and dozens of thick needles jab into the girl. Jessica hears a pumping sound as the poor girl's blood is mechanically drained in a matter of seconds. The needles retract, the cage opens, and the now pale girl falls out to the floor.

Jessica is horrified, clutching a hand to her open mouth, but she can't move.

The Vampiress looks over at Jessica. "Ah, you must be Jessica! I'm Diana! Elizabeth had told me all about you, dear" she says. "What do you think of my...processor? Elizabeth wants to have a score of these machines pumping around the clock at a facility we are constructing. Amazing, isn't it?"

Diana looks concerned, wondering if perhaps Jessica wasn't meant to see this yet. "Elizabeth has told you about her plans for this city, right?" Diana asks.

Jessica mutters some half apology, closes the door and stumbles away, her legs weak. She bends over and vomits. A moment of total clarity washes over her.

These people are fucking monsters she thinks, and if I stay I'll become a monster too.
