You carefully chip away the rest of the wall, afraid you would damage the doll otherwise. The interior is much smaller compared to the other areas you uncovered, but given this is the second floor, hiding such a place without raising suspicions must have already been hard enough.

Once the doll is fully exposed, you can't help your surprise. The discolored chair it sits on speaks of its age, yet there's hardly any dust on the doll, especially on its large bonnet, where you can't spot a single speck. Its crimson dress has no signs of wear, not even the hem which folds on the dusty floor. Its blonde hair, reaching to its elbows, shines with a clean luster, only losing when it comes to the intensely green eyes and blush.

Strangest of all is the posture. Its hands have remained on its lap for more than a hundred years, completely retaining the aspect of a refined lady from a past era. It looks extremely valuable, but more than that, beautiful, albeit in a creepy way that feels off.

If you were to put the feeling it creates into words, it would be an eerie perfection that captivates you, that makes you want to stare.

And you stare. You stare, and stare... And the more you stare at it, the more that unknown feeling turns into fear. Even its lips that stick out so innocently feel dangerous, yet you can't take your eyes off of it for even a second. Your heart beats a strong, slow rhythm, and you dread the idea of taking another step.

You dread it... yet, you want to touch her. Her cheek, her lips, her hair... Only then will you be at ease.
