Chapter 14 by boobboob boobboob

What the future holds...

Day 3 - The wonders of modern medicine

Your next stop is at a nearby bakery, where you order a small coffee and a cinnamon bun to go. Now let's see... you reach into your pocket and grab the medicine container, open it and retrieve the subtle, small pill that will save your life. Along with a bit of warm coffee, you gulp it down. Done. Now you simply had to hope that it will work!

An hour later, you're back in your hotel room with the worst kind of stomach ache. A damp, hot towel on your naked belly helped to relieve at least some of the tension, and you spend the rest of the day watching TV and trying to relax. In the evening, you order what little you could still afford - a sandwich and some water.

The next day, you wake up feeling a whole lot better and refreshed. Your clothes were a little smelly after having worn them all day before already, but you put them on regardless and take a walk outside. A very pretty, large park was right outside and invited you to enjoy the scenery. Why not? A little bit of walking might be exactly what you needed to calm down. Eventually, you stumble across a huge lake in the midst of the park, and sit down by a nearby bench to admire the view. Mere minutes later, tiny ducklings swim towards you and approach you on land!

So. Friggin. Cute!

You feed them with what little you had saved up from yesterdays sandwich, and they happily go on their merry way with mommy duck and daddy duck.

On that very same bench, you observe the sun setting in the far distance many hours later. Life was nice. Perhaps it's the ups and downs which allow you to really appreciate the good parts when they happen. Everything comes to an end though, and you retreat back to your hotel to sleep and hopefully return to your former self.

Wasn't that easy though. You're nervously lying on your bed for hours, TV remote in hand until you pass out and wake up the following morning.

In the correct body!

It's like you're reborn, and you could barely even wait to go for another walk and watch the sun rise - this time, from a perspective you were a whole lot more familiar and comfortable with.
