"Thanks." she passes the bottle back. "But, Hannah's always chirping in my ear about... you know... not experiencing my life the way I should have. I only had... three...sex partners in my life, and one of them was the guy who knocked me up in high school." She looks at you apologetically. "That's the way she put it, baby."
You nod, and put up a conciliatory hand.
"And that weekend, she was laying on thick the whole time. How did I know I was really happy? I hadn't sampled the full menu, I had told myself I was happy because I had to, for the sake of Riley...and then Jared."
"Is that true?"
"No...." she looks at you. "At least, not really. I'd never thought that I wanted more."
"And...now?" you press her, despite the fact that the answer might hurt you.
"I don't know... it wasn't right, what I did." she looks into the water. "But...it did... pique my curiosity, I guess."

"I can't claim to be a saint, Jenna. But I've always tried to right by you." That's pretty vague, you know, but she seems to accept it.
"I told her I was never going to do it again, that I felt dirty and sick. She kept chirping on about it, how Jason was fine and I should enjoy myself whenever I can, that I deserved it after having 'my life stolen from me.'"

"I have a possible solution to this... conundrum." You say.
"What?" she looks so hopeful that you fall in love with her all over again.
"Well, I love you. Truly, deeply and without question. But I won't lie. I have moments of curiosity, myself."
"Really?" she rubs your leg. "I guess that's natural."
"And as long as we're honest, and communicate well..."
"Which, we are...I mean, I was before this whole incident..." she shrugs her shoulders sheepishly.
"Right, well... I think it might be possible to explore..." you swallow. "...a way for us to satisfy our curiosities without hurting each other."
"You mean...like...." she rubs a little more insistently. "Swinging?"
"You can call it that if you want, though I think that means with another couple and like trading off. I don't know the terminology. I was thinking that if one of us has an opportunity, we should, with proper communication, be free to explore it, as long as we act safely and responsibly with it."
Jenna looks at you with her jaw dropped.
"Wow...you really think... you think that's possible?"
"Do you?"
She has a faraway look in her eyes. "Maybe... I don't know if I like the thought of you... with some other woman...but..." she idly rubs her breast through her dress. "Then again...that's actually kind of hot...Oh god, what am I saying?"
"We can do it any way you want, as long as we're both comfortable. If you want it to be only with another couple, and everyone's in the same room, or if we each have a kind of... "hall pass." What do you think? I want you to be happy and able to satisfy this...curiosity. I love you, and I think this level of trust could make our marriage even stronger."
"Really? That seems like such a fantasy. But I love you too, and I want you to be able to satisfy your curiosity, too!" She finishes in a rush, as if eager to get the words out.
"Ok. So...I guess....we're agreed then? We can talk more about the details in the morning..lay down the rules..."
"Yeah! Wow...I'm suddenly really excited...." she wraps her arms around your neck, kissing you lovingly. "I'm the luckiest woman in the world, you know?"
