Ava hangs her clothes out to dry

Without delay, Ava rushed back to her room and closed everything behind her, locking the door in the process.

Even after several minutes, Ava just knew that wearing these damp clothes would not do. So, in the comfort of her own room, she stripped everything off again and pondered where to put her only clothes so they could dry.

She thought about putting them where the heat was, but it was summer and she didn't want to turn the thermostat up if she could help it. She could also put them in the oven, but didn't want them to burn. Maybe she could even put them on the porch, but she didn't want to see them outside where they could be lost forever. Ultimately, however, Ava had to make her mind up.
