Argue with Cardin after school

Ruby and Cardin had kept quiet for the rest of the school day. They were ready for a confrontation once classes were done. They had found a nice spot in an empty classroom.

“So, you really want to challenge me, wimp?” said Cardin, cracking his knuckles and putting on a fighting stance.

Ruby was taken aback by the action. She had expected them to talk it out. Not fight.

“No,” Ruby answered, holding up her hands. Ruby did not want to challenge Cardin. Her fury that had built up during the school day was gone, if it were ever there at all.

“I was just hoping we could talk things over, properly, instead of fighting.”

“Huh,” Cardin gagged, “That’s rich. Talking things over, huh? How about we talk about why a tiny girl like you shouldn’t be in a proper huntsmen academy, in the same class as me? What about our classic Faunus discussions or your draining girl power lectures?”

Tension began to rise in Ruby’s chest, as Cardin continued ranting. It reminded her exactly why she couldn’t stand him. He was just so pig-headed and bigoted, as well as self-centered and believed that he could just **** and belittle anyone that he saw as less than him. They truly were chalk and cheese.

“Cardin, enough. I’m just going to disagree with anything you say. I should have known arguing with you would be meaningless. No matter what I say or what the facts are, you’ll never change your mind or see things differently.”

“Yeah, well, whatever! None of you Beacon chicks are willing to hear me out, anyway.” Cardin bit back.

Ruby disagreed completely and, for whatever reason, she really wanted to let him know.

“Oh please. All us Beacon Chicks are always willing to hear you out, Cardin,” said Ruby, kind of perplexedly.

She didn’t know why she would let that slip, as well as why she had just referred to the entire female student body as ‘Beacon chicks’. However, her expression grew sterner as her resolve became firmer, knowing it to be a fact. She, along with all the other chicks at this school, were always ready to listen to Cardin. They may not always agree; Gods, Ruby knew for a fact that she’d disagree with anything he’d say. However, she would always let him get his point across.

Cardin held a weirded-out expression, before scoffing slightly and letting out another, “Whatever.”

Cardin was none-the-wiser about any of what transpired, both in the mind of Ruby and the change in the world. As Ruby said, No matter what she says or what the facts are, Cardin’s mind would never change. Likewise, he was unaffected by any of the fact/memory-altering changes the girl made.
