Amelia’s letters

This is a letter I got from Amelia about 2 months after she left.

Hey Darx,

My time in the castle is over now. It was very enlightening. I even met the queen and the princess. They are both so beautiful. I am actually a little jealous of the princess' dress. But I learned so much over there. The mentors have been very kind and helpful. At the end of the month, one of them even offered me to join one of the big guilds. But I declined. I just don’t feel comfortable at being in one of the big three. I’ve decided to join the celestial unicorns instead. So, now you know where to send your letters to.

But Darx, do you remember how Oliver and Emma left for Tristanis during the night of the festival? Turns out that is not true at all. They are here, in Riledo. I received a letter from Oliver to come and meet him in the pleasant owl. It is quite a distance from the Celestial Unicorn guild, but how could I not visit my old friend.

Oliver and Emma have told me everything. About Fabe, how you and Mia helped them escape, the plan to make everyone think they left for Tristanis to make certain Fabe doesn’t come searching for them over here, about the pregnancy …

In a way, I am saddened that I wasn’t in on the plan. I definitely would have helped Oliver and Emma escape if I knew. But to be honest, I was not exactly in the best mindset back then. I just wish I could have been there when I was needed.

How is your training going? You are still training, right? Life here in the city would be so much better if you were here.

I did decide to try and write a return letter to Amelia a letter back then, but I didn’t get any further then ‘Hello’. Even the next day, after a whole day of thinking what I could write to her, I still had nothing. Eventually I just wrote I was happy about the results of her ranking ceremony and that I was following a training schedule proposed by my mom. A letter worth of just two sentences. Not much of a letter, but it was all I could manage.

Looks like Oliver felt he had to let Amelia know. He at least is still on good terms with her. Can I still be? Even after all this time, she still hasn’t come clean to me. Gah, she made her choice. Why is she trying to keep contacting me? If Amelia regrets what she has done, then why doesn’t she just tell me what is was?
