A New Book

I take and store my small medal in my inventory.

"Well, now I understand why you Surged so quickly." Kagiyama says before sighing and getting his shoulder hit by Sugano.

"So, is there anything else?" I ask wanting to finish this now.

"No, we'll need some time to digest this but don't worry. We do trust you. You entered this pact and you swore on Gaia's name. And sorry again for earlier. We wanted to push you to the edge to see if the other Devils would come help you but I took it too far." Kallen says.

"It's okay, I understand why you did it. And sorry about your arm." I say before continuing after a moment of silence. "So Liz, can I get your help with something real quick?"

"What is it?" Liz asks and I take out my Empty Tome. "Where did you get that?" She asks a bit surprised after seeing it.

"I found it in the Ruins my guild was assigned to clear." Before I can say anything else Sugano starts talking.

"Why did you start exploring them?" She asks me.

"I don't like wasting time. I figured while I wait for your response I'd start exploring them. That and Luna got too exited and impatient."

"So you they assigned it to you, I'm glad, it'll be a good experience. How far did you get?" Kagiyama asks curiously.

"We finished the first floor. That's where I got this. It was in the boss room." I say while gesturing to the Empty Tome.

"Wait, you already beat the first floor boss!?" Myla asks standing up.

"Yes. It was a Rock Drake. We also beat a Fire Minotaur Mini Boss." I say proudly.

"So your first time in a Ruins and you beat the first floor Mini Boss and floor Boss?" Hino asks and I nod.

"So what did you want me to put into this book?" Liz asks holding it.

"You already know I wanted you to?" I ask her shocked.

"Yep, this isn't the first time I've done this. But you are lucky. These books are very rare, and highly sought after. Y'know, you could probably get about 50 grand on the market, at least double if you put it up for auction." She says smiling.

"That's tempting, but no. I want to put Ancient Beast Magic in it and teach it to Luna." Liz goes wide eyed hearing this.

"Let's start then!" She says eagerly and taking my hand. I hear Sugano laugh and start talking.

"Sorry Eric, Liz loves magic and the thought of getting to see Ancient magic, let alone unknown, up close and interact with it sends her into overdrive." She says.

"I can see that. So Liz what do I do?" I ask her and she turns to me, smiling.

"Cast a spell and I'll follow the mana you manipulate and pull it and the rest into the book." She says. I nod and cast Ancient Beastial Strength. She closes her eyes and smiles wider. Suddenly I feel something tug on my mana. I feel it tug but it keeps moving. After a few seconds it finds what it's looking for and pulls. I feel my enhancement spell break and stop as it gets pulled out. A moment later it flickers back on and I feel it reactivate. "Okay! I'm done!" Liz says as the Empty Tome lights up. The light slowly fades away and the book is no longer a brown leather bound book. It's a golden orange color and has a metallic film cover. The cover has a picture of a wolf baring its fangs. I use Observe on it and smile.

Ancient Beast Magic Spellbook, Mythical

This Spellbook contains the knowledge of Ancient Beast Magic. Ancient Beast Magic is very powerful, focusing on raw Strength. It allows the caster to raise their own and launch devastating attacks, however at a great mana cost. Reading this will destroy the book. Requirements: Only beast men who are capable of great Strengths can use this magic.

"How is it?" Liz asks, sounding a little nervous.

"It's great, thank you." I say petting her without thinking while using my other hand to store it in my inventory.

"Eric, would you create more of those? And of the magic you used on my arm?" Kallen asks and I shake my head no, just now realizing I've been petting Liz for a while. I stop it and see a faint disappointed look on her slightly blushing face.

"No, the magic I used on your arm can only be used by whatever race my mother was. So no one else would be able to learn it. Ancient Beast Magic can only be used by beast men but they have to have enough strength. But I'm not sure what that means."

"Oh well, it was worth asking." He says and I stand up.

"Well, if there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."

"That's all, have a good night." Sugano says and I leave. On my way out I get stopped by Hino and Myla.

"Hang on Eric!" I hear Myla shout before I open the door at the end of the hall. I turn around see them running up to me.

"What is it?" I ask them, curious but also wanting to get home.

"I just wanted to apologize for my father. He was upset after hearing about us and used that as an excuse to vent on you." Myla says.

"It's fine, if I ever have kids I'll probably do the same." I say and she chuckles.

"Well I said what I needed to, now it's your turn Hino." She says to Hino and she steps forward. She opens her mouth to say something but stops. Myla give her a gentle push.
