A Hooker!

"...a...lady of the night." She says at long last.

You blink a few times as you process what she had just said. "Excuse me?"

"She's a..."

"A hooker. I'm a hooker, okay?" You hear an unfamiliar voice say off to your right.

Your head snaps that direction and you see an attractive young black woman peer out at you through the screen of the window she had been listening from.

"Whaaat..." You start to say before being interrupted by the very irate call girl.

"What the hell is goin on here Grace? You said we'd be alone. If this is some sort of set up I...I'll want more money. Lots more money. I never agreed to any of this." The more the black girl looked you up and down the more unhappy she got. "Actually...I don't think so."

Your sister meantime was blushing several shades of pink. "No Fantasia, I didn't know he was coming. This is my brother Andy."

"Fantasia?" You mutter in disbelief.

The prostitute looks to your truck then back at you. "Andy? Naw...naw...something doesn't feel right here. Why'sa trucker comin out here?" The girl shakes her head and backs away from the window, you could still hear her talking. "You didn't say nothin about a guy bein here. You didn't say your brother was comin. This isn't right."

Grace turns and heads back into the house. After a moment of stunned silence you follow her in.

The slender Fantasia, who you could now see was dressed in a pink miniskirt, fishnet stockings, and a bright yellow crop top, was picking up an oversized puffy faux leather jacket. She jams her hand into one of the pockets and pulls out a folding pocket knife which she immediately opens up and points in your direction!

Instinctively you step forward to protect your sister who had been stopped in her tracks at the appearance of a weapon. You hold your one hand out in front of you as you shield Grace with the other.

This Fantasia was young, she couldn't have been more than 20, and she looked scared. This was no street hardened old Ho, she was a green as the verdant shade of her painted nails. Your presence seemed to have changed everything happening here. Being out here, many miles from the closest city, you couldn't blame her for being on edge. Her dark eyes flit back and forth between the two white folk in front of her. The more she had the chance to think about what was happening the less and less she liked it.

"I want to go home now." She says. "You didn't say nothin about a guy bein here. You said just us!"

"H-he wasn't s-supposed to be here." Grace stutters.

"Just calm down." You say in a steady tone, your eyes laser focused on the weapon. "There's no need for that."

"I never shoulda agreed to this. I knew this was fucked the moment I heard..." Fantasia was talking more to herself than to us. She glances to her left. "No phone. Trucker guy shows up outta nowhere. Now I hear some story about the highway being closed."

The telephone being out wasn't a rare occurrence out here, but this was a lousy time for it.

"The highway is closed." You say. "Just calm down."

"Don't you fuckin tell me to calm down you son of a..."

You dart forward a step and with the speed of a striking rattler you snatch the knife from the girl's shaking grip.

"Fuck!" She exclaims as she leaps back unarmed. Now real fear could be seen in her deep dark eyes as she was helpless and alone a long way from home. She clenches her fists at her sides. "I'll fight you!"

You motion her to stand down. "Calm...the fuck...down. Okay? Nobody's gonna hurt anybody." You fold the knife and toss it behind you angrily. "What the hell is going on here!?" You look back down to your sister. "Why do you have a...hooker in your house?"
