A Chat

I get back to the still empty room. I sit on the bed and pull out the small protective case from my grandfather. I open it and see a small red gem. I shrug and put it back in my inventory.

"Random useless object. Just like always gramps." I say to myself. After waiting about 13 minutes there's a knock on the door. Before I can say anything Liz opens it.

"Hey Hero, you awake yet?" She asks. She turns and sees me sitting on the bed, still shirtless. "Mmm I like what I see." I sigh and stand up.

"Yeah, yeah do you guys have my armor? I'd like it back."

"Hmm, I don't know?" She says in a fake sarcastic voice. "But if you want a shirt why don't you do what you did yesterday?"

"I would, but that's my school uniform and it's expensive. I don't want to risk ruining it."

"Sure, of course." She reaches into the hallway and hands me my missing armor. By the way, what's with those claws?" She asks pointing at my hands.

"Hmm, oh yeah I don't know how to put them away. They're made by magic but it doesn't seem to have a time limit..." I trail off remembering what Bergeth said. I have no limit. I created this magic. Could it be it takes after me. Does all magic take after it's creator. Is my Darkness School limitless? Liz pulls me out of my thoughts.

"Eric, are you ready?" She laughs seeing my confused face. "Were you not listening? I said we need to go chat and form some pacts." I nod and equip my armor with my inventory and follow her. I try to use Observe on her, and smile seeing it works.

She leads me back to the meeting room we meet at. Once we enter the room I see Kallen, Myla, Kagiyama, Sugano and Hino sitting and waiting. Once seated Kallen hands me something.

"Here Eric, you left this last time." He hands me the small box the fox had gave when I created my guild. "It has your guild registry device and guild leader card. Both need your blood to learn your mana circuits before they can be used." I nod and thank him, storing it in my inventory.

"So, what are you?" Kagiyama asks.

"Kagiyama!" Sugano says angrily.

"Sorry, what I meant was, how do you use so many forms of magic? When we last met I assumed you used spatial magic to store matter. That you stored fire and brought it out to attack. That you craft by manipulating the matter of objects but now..." he trails off.

"I assume you mean that most people can only use one school of magic right?"

"So you do know." Kallen adds.

"Yes but not why I can use more." I say taking a deep breath. "Do any of you know who Bergeth is?" I ask smiling and hoping to make this easier. The look on their faces immediately crushed that hope.

"How do you know that name." Sugano asks sounding a bit frightened.

"Who is Bergeth exactly?" I ask starting to get a bit worried about who I let into my soul.

"Bergeth was the ancient war wolf. Thousands of years ago he would go travel the world. This was at the peak of the Lyna war where they fought endlessly. Bergeth would kill almost all he came across leaving very few survivors. Eventually he was slain, but he completely destroyed the kingdom he was killed in. Now how do you know that name?" Kagiyama answers and asks.

"Yeah, about that. You see, how do I explain this? Um okay so do you know what a Soul-Link is?" I ask trying to stall.

"Yes, its a bridge between two souls in which they allow to other access to their powers and skills. Wait you don't mean." Kallen says figuring it out.

"Yep, Bergeth and I are Soul-Linked." I reply saying it like a joke. The others go silent except for Liz.

"He isn't joking." She says. Kagiyama puts his head in his hands and sighs.

"So, let me get this straight, you entered a Soul-link with Bergeth and now you can use multiple schools of magic?" He asks.

"No, I brought up Bergeth because he told me I was already casting spells from various schools of magic. He gave me access to his Ancient Beast magic. But I already had fire, lightning, biomancy, dark, creation and more. At least according to him." I say causing Kagiyama to sigh again.

"So what your saying, is that you've been able to use multiple schools of magic before meeting and Soul-Linking with an ancient and powerful being." Kallen says and I nod.

"There is more though, right? About those claws." Liz asks pointing at my Dark Claws that are still here.

"Your not helping Elizabeth." I say. She scoffs before replying.

"Well I'm not the one using a school of magic unrecognizable to a Sensor, who by the way, are able to recognize every school of magic they've seen before, even if only once." The others look at me and I burry my head in my hands, or I guess they're claws now.
