Chapter 60

What Now?
A Punishment
I appear in my Domain and before I can do anything, I'm getting dragged out by Asami. She stays silent until we're out of the cabin and, judging from the look on her face, she's mad.
"So, what happened that you couldn't let us know where you were this time?" She's staring at me angrily. "Did you fight another Devil?" She asks sarcastically.
"Actually yes I did. And I used up all my mana and passed out. I just woke up a few minutes ago." She looks at me in disbelief.
"R-really?" She asks already regretting being mad at me. I pull her into a hug.
"Look at my memories, it'll be easier than explaining it all." She does and starts apologizing. "It's fine. If I were in your shoes I'd have tied your leash to the bed until you told me what happened." She smiles and embraces me back. When did this happen? When did I fall in love with her. Her cute demeanor, the way her ears twitch when she's happy. No matter what happens I know I won't regret this. I think to myself.
"So, Eric. I can't see your thoughts when viewing your memories but I'm assuming your going back right? If so why did you come here? N-not that I'm complaining, I'm j-just curious is all." She's blushing now.
"Yes I'm going back but I wanted to check on you two. And I have two more things to do. Speaking of where's Luna?"
"She's inside. She's sleeping in the bed, we took turns staying up."
"Sorry, I'll see if I can get you guys a phone so I can tell you next time."
"How about you don't make a next time. Although I know you won't. Anyway I'm going to go wake Luna up and don't worry, I'll share my memories of yours with her to catch her up."
"Thanks, I'll be here." She smiles and nods, turning around to go back to the cabin. While waiting I do the first thing I came here for. I take the package from my grandfather out and open it up. Inside is an envelop with my name on it and a small case to protect whatever's inside. I open the letter first and read it.
To my idiotic grandson.
I hope your doing well. I know this is short notice but I'm going to be visiting you. I'll be there Friday night and I'm going to spend a couple nights with you. Oh, and before you ask, no you do not get a say in this. So I'll see you soon. Oh and I almost forgot, I left you a little present. It's a artifact from an ancient civilization, but knowing you, you don't care about the details. Take good care of it ya hear.
Love, the worlds best grandad.
I sigh reading the ending. This is classic for him though. He always drops by at random times and never gives more than a four day heads up. Once he even showed up without any heads up. This time though is really inconvenient. Oh well, I'll just have to deal. If I try telling him no he'll get nosy and become a bigger inconvenience. My thoughts are interrupted by a sleepy Luna punching me.

"Jerk." Luna says turning away and crossing her arms.
"What was that for?" I ask her sternly.
"Why didn't you talk to us before making the guild." She replies pointing her finger at me. I sigh and shake my head.
"Why would I? I wanted to make it for my own reasons and was going to bring it up to you two after."
"You should have because we're joining." Asami says smiling smugly and crossing her arms.
"What? Why?" I ask dumbfounded.
"Because you need people who can fight!" Luna says flexing her caramel arms, still wearing my t-shirt.
"And a secretary!" Asami adds awkwardly trying to imitate pushing glasses up her nose. I laugh at that and they both get mad.
"Sorry, sorry. It just looked funny. Trying to push invisible glasses." Asami pouts and Luna giggles.
"So your going to let us join?" Asami asks.
"Of course, I was trying to figure out how to ask." The two smile and start jumping excitedly. "Asami, quick question." She stops and nods. "Can I upgrade the Domains house?" I ask her.
"Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that. My bad. Go back to the Domain Pillar and you can do it from there. It will require various resources depending on what you upgrade."
"I can upgrade more than the house?" Asami nods and explains.
"Apparently you can upgrade the Essences to, however removing them will destroy the upgrades." I nod and thank her. I walk inside while Luna and Asami take the garden shovel and flower seeds I bought, having wanted to plant them since they saw them. I go to my Domain Pillar and start messing around on the screen. After a few minutes of figuring it out I find the upgrades section. There I see three upgrades for the house. One being wood, the second stone, and finally metal. I can also see a preview of the outcome. Looking at what they need I decide to go with the wood upgrade. This'll add two more rooms, I can then do anything with. While the others just change the wood to stone or metal. In order to upgrade it I need 250 wood. I double check and I only have 75. I sigh and turn the screen off. I walk out of my cabin and smiles seeing Luna and Asami messing around, covered in dirt and tossing more at each other.
"Hey, girls. I need to head back now. I'll see you later okay." I tell them.
"Wait Eric!" Luna says running up to me. "Are we going to place the Nature Spring Core?"
"Oh yeah! I forgot about that." She giggles and takes me nearby to where she and Asami had dug a big hole a bit bigger and rounder than my schools pool but not as deep. I take the core out of my inventory and hand it to her. She walks to the center of the pool and lets it go. It floats into the air and starts slowly dripping with water. I tell the girls by and leave, going back to where I came from.
