*Zombie Apocalypse Games*

Ah, the Zombies.

Pioneered by George Romero the modern zombie is a blend of intensive Human fears and cultural commentary. Essentially based on the primal human terror of the unknown and the more modernist existential horror of being **** to become part of the very thing you most oppose, the Zombies are the ultimate expression of herd mentality and the corrosive effect of the concept of "being like folks" forcing all people of superior intellect to become outcasts in the very social culture which depends on them to keep it afloat.

The Zombies represent the silent majority of borderline idiots that make up the human race, blindly consuming everything in our environment and contributing nothing to the betterment of the species.

Meanwhile the surviving Humans represent the elite members of society, the rare truly exceptional individuals who are supposed to be the leaders of society, but instead are marginalized and HATED by the common man out of jealous spite.

It should surprise no one, then, that the programmers who write games for a living and the geeks that were the main consumers of that content until recently, have made and popularized a number of games about that subject.

With titles such as Urban Dead, Zombie Pandemic, and Dead Frontier the Zombie MMO is a diverse archetype and powerful concept. Many many geeks and nerds that have watched the Zombie films of George Romero think they would have what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse, and so, these games remain popular.
