"Well, if we're gonna start working together, then I guess I'm gonna have to start trusting you." You get up and grab a knife and point at her. "If you try anything funny though, I won't be as kind a second time."

Yeah, you can forgive, but you didn't choose to forget. You throw all of her knives and daggers outside, keeping only one. You go back inside and cut one of her wrists free for the bonds of rope you wrapped around her. She seems to be relaxed still, but there's still tension between the both of you.

Scarlet doesn't seem to react much. No "thank you" came out of her mouth as she finally stood up to look at you. Instead, she glares at you. "That's it? You're not going to kill me?"

You shake your head. As far as you knew, there wasn't a bounty on her head, and there wasn't one on yours...As far as you knew. There was still a bit of a risk, but it was worth it if you could land a well-paying contract with this outfit. It seemed she intended to leave, but turned out to face you. "Ok, partner - let's start talking about how we can start working together. Again, I know we got off on the wrong foot, I already apologized for that, but let's iron out the details of your new job and contract. But first, in order to build this trust a little more, I would like to get my equipment back inside."

"Ugh, do you really have to be armed again?" You whine.

"Well, I didn't ask to be attacked my contact. Thought I can't blame you for disarming me, I'd rather have all my gear with me rather than outside in the elements."

Between trips, you both make some general small talk. Scarlet is a native to these parts. More or less anyway. She's a contractor too, but with a less colorful background than yours. She's under a very strict contract with ARS. She's more of a scout than the main muscle to get tasks done. She says she work well in groups, but in teams of two she's been known to accomplish some astounding feats. Groups of two travel the fastest, and there's not a lot of room of argument or disagreement if the two people in said-group trust each other enough.

It seems she's here because it's her that requested that someone was recruited to be with her. First impressions matter, she comments, and despite the first encounter being rough, she's more than impressed of you fighting skills, and all your talking has also proved you aren't some mindless contractor.

Finally, with all the weapons brought back inside, you also get your horse and guide it near the building. It's too late in the night to return to the tavern, but at least you aren't alone. Scarlet says that you both can stay inside and get to know each other a bit more. She'll take you in to meet the other parts of the Syndicate in the morning...You feel a little guilty leaving Delilah, but maybe this is for the better? You didn't want to hurt her, and if you're already this well known, someone bad would have come over her eventually.
