[NOTES]
Written January 8th
Alright, with plenty of digging, I’ve pinned down on the story further, still aiming for the 17 chapters of the first arc, providing (I think) 3-4 more sex scenes. I’ve really hammered down 6 arcs, the only ones I’ve been having issues hammering down details for is the 3rd arc and the final arc. Below are the names of the arcs, I’ll be going back and from here on, the arc name will be added to the start of each one.
With the votes in I went and hammered out the details, I also think from here on out, votes will be done via linking Strawpolls or something similar. I realize people probably didn’t want to create an account to comment or put in the effort to comment. I didn’t really make it clear outside of these side chapters that I’d go with whatever people wanted of the options.
Arc 1 : Rise of an empire
Arc 2 : The echoes of the Past
Arc 3 : The Great Flood
Arc 4 : Olympus Recognizes the Worthy
Arc 5 : Poseidon Changes His Tides
Arc 6 : Yggdrasil vs Níðhöggr
With the idea that the first arc has 17 chapters, the second arc is planned to go for a full 20. The third Arc hasn’t been decided as with much of the arc, the fourth arc is shorter at around 10 chapters with a whole two sex scenes. The fifth arc is planned to be 15 chapters long with 2 sex scenes. The final arc hasn’t had much thorough planning, but i’m expecting it to last the shortest of 8 chapters and might have no sex scenes.
That’s a solid 70 chapters planned before figuring out the third arc and fully figuring out the sixth and final arc.

So it's at this point for sure that the garden has won out in votes. I suppose I didn’t make it quite clear that it’s open for readers to decide so that might be my bad. It didn’t matter a whole lot to me because all three just followed a specific path, while I had to change what it was I was researching and planning when the decision was made
So a commenter pointed out something interesting. It does make more sense thematically that the liegelord would switch between the first option (Daedalus Fortress) and the last option (Caverns of Plutus and Ares)
I figured there’s no harm in adding this bit though it technically falls under spoiler territory if I go back and do these branches. The fortress plan was to be more like a town, sealed off and becoming an npc society that hides away from players. While a bit self defeating, I didn’t exactly picture mindless zombies in either the fortress or the caverns. More commonly intelligent undead and bug based monstrosities would appear over the mindless masses of skeletons and dung beetles. Vampires, Some versions of Ghouls, Zorak from Space Ghost. Etc etc.
Of course I encourage others to write the branches their own way, if swapping the options and taking that path makes more sense to you then by all means, I would adore seeing what can be made.
As a side note, I never saw the liegelord effect as a locked in “you only get this here on out” but more like “50% increase chance to get these creatures when you get creatures” so a surprise that breaks the mold was always intended for each of the three options regardless of the path taken.
Notes written January 29th
Delayed, work picked up, expecting things to take a day or two longer because of it.
Notes written January 31st
Probably not gonna have the drawn up map of the new grove up until the weekend, possibly. I’ve had what to write in my head for the last three weeks, the last five or so days I’ve finally managed to get it down here. Hopefully nothing too egregious sneaks through when I publish it.
For better or worse the chapter is released now, Hoping it's not completely illegible. Tired with 30 hours without sleep, so I guess I'll fix whatever's wrong when I wake up.
[SPOILERS]
The major influences for the first arc can be linked to The Iliad book 4, midsummer night’s dream, and sprinklings of minor stories here and there will appear. I really wanted to drive the story early with a long winded setup and minor threats. Ease into the bigger problems later on and leave the first section as a “not much happening” sort of thing. With the first 17 chapters I think I’ll be introducing around 10 total characters and getting you all comfortable with them.
The second arc is influenced by the stories of Endymion, Pygmalion, the poem Venus and Adonis, lots of plans for that, maybe a sleeping beauty vibe i’m not sure of yet. I wanted to really dig in the player's involvement with this using a series of quests issued by the main character. Kind of like a more involved war effort but I’m not certain on where to take it yet.
What's next?
